🔹 Verse 159 – Surah An-Nisa | A Wilayah & Mahdavi Exposition

🌙 The Noble Verse

“There is none among the People of the Book but will certainly believe in him [Jesus] before his death, and on the Day of Resurrection, he will be a witness against them.”
(Surah An-Nisa 4:159)

✍️ Wilayah & Mahdavi Narrations

1. Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him):
When this verse was revealed, the Prophet said:

“Whoever denies what has been revealed about Jesus (peace be upon him) is a disbeliever. And whoever denies what I have said about Ali (peace be upon him) is also a disbeliever.”

2. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family):
He said:

“O Ali! You are like Jesus (peace be upon him). Just as the enemies of Jesus will believe in him at the moment of death, your enemies too will admit to your truth at the moment of their death — but it will be of no benefit to them. And your lovers will see you at their death, as you bring joy and intercede for them.”

3. Imam al-Baqir (peace be upon him):
He said:

“No one from the followers of different religions — from the beginning to the end — will die without acknowledging the truth of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and Amir al-Mu’minin (peace be upon him).”

4. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family):
He said:

“The Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance) is from my progeny. When he rises, Jesus, son of Mary (peace be upon him) will descend and perform prayer behind him.”

5. Imam Hasan (peace be upon him):
He said:

“All of us from the Ahl al-Bayt were compelled to pledge allegiance to the tyrants of our times, except the Qa’im (Imam Mahdi). He will appear, and Jesus (peace be upon him) will pray behind him.”

6. ‘Ali ibn Ibrahim al-Qummi (may Allah have mercy on him):
He states:

“When the Prophet (peace be upon him) returns [in the era of Rajʿah], all people will believe in him.”

7. Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him):
He said:

“This verse was revealed about us, the Ahl al-Bayt. None of the children of Fatima (peace be upon her) dies without confessing the Imamate of his contemporary Imam, just as the sons of Jacob confessed the position of Joseph (peace be upon them both).”
