💠 Imam Sajjad’s
#Sermon in Syria, Damascus 💠

🔷 Part: 1

⚫️After Karbala tragedy, they took #Imam_Sajjad_(A.S) and the other household of the Imam to Kufa and Damascus. The Imam and his aunt #Zeinab(S.A) started revealing facts about Ashura tragedy and the corrupt government of Umayyad Dynasty.

🔷During this period, the people of Syria had learnt Islam from #Umayyad kings and they were ignorant of the school of the Prophet. They considered the Omayid kings the true descendants of the Prophet. Unlike the people of Kufa, they thought a foreigner named Hussein had risen against Emir of the Believers Yazid‼️
So the caliph had to kill him and take his family captive. To that end, they had organized festivities for the victory.

⚫️ In that meeting #Yazid ordered one of his orators to talk ill of #Imam_Ali (A.S) and his progeny and brief the courtiers on the Ashura tragedy. The orator on the pulpit spoke ill of Imam Ali (A.S) and #Imam_Hussain (A.S) and lauded Muawiyah and Yazid.

🔘Hearing his words, #Imam_Sajjad (A.S) said:
🔹“You orator! You have sold your Hereafter for material things. Now look at your place in the Doomsday and be ready to meet your fate! Do you let me talk to the people?”‌

🔘Yazid didn’t let him talk because he knew well about the influence of his #sermons.
🔘At the same time, #Yazid’s_son Muawiyah said: “Let him talk. His sermon will be of no influence!”‌
Yazid told his son:
“You are unaware of the influence of these people. They inherit knowledge and eloquence from one another. I am afraid his sermon would motivate people of the city to rise against us.”‌

🔷The people of Damascus asked the caliph to let the Imam talk.
🔘Yazid said: “He will never step down the pulpit unless he disgraces me and the progeny of Abu Sofyan.”
“What this young adult can do?”‌
Yazid replied: “He belongs to a family whose children are born with knowledge.”‌

☑️People’s emphasis made him finally let the Imam talk to them.
His words brought tears to the eyes and sorrows to the hearts of the people.

💠 The #Sermon of #Syeda_Zainab (s.a) in the gathering of Yazid son of Muawiya in #Syria: 

💠 A major part of Zainab’s (sa) mission started when #Karbala tragedy apparently ended with the martyrdom of #Imam_Hussein (a.s). This chapter of Sayyeda Zainab’s (s.a) life began with conveying the message of #Ashura in which she heroically defended the household’s rights and did not permit the enemies to take advantage of Karbala tragedy.

🔷 After the massacre of Imam Hussain bin 'Ali (a.s.) and his companions at Karbala, the forces of Yazid bin Mu'awiyah took the children and women of Hussain's caravan as prisoners. They were taken from Karbala to Kufa and from Kufa to Damascus, the capital and stronghold of Umayyid power. 

🔴 Yazid's government was very strong at that time in Syria, as the people were bombarded with false information about the household of Imam Ali (a.s) and fake virtues and merits of descendants of Abu Sufyan.

🔷 In Damascus, the prisoners were presented into the court of Yazid.
Yazid was seated on his throne and was much pleased when he saw the forty-four bound captives arrive. The head of Hussain(a.s) was then brought to him on a golden tray. He struck the Imam’s teeth with his stick and said:
❇️ “O Hussain! You have paid the price of your revolt.”
He was joyfully reciting some poems in which he openly rejected the Prophethood of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh&hp) and called on his ancestors (who were killed by the Muslim army in the battle of Badr) to witness the revenge which he had extracted from the family of the Prophet. 

✨ When Sayyeda Zainab (s.a) saw this show of arrogance from Yazid, she uprose against him and bravely addressed for all in the palace of Yazid and recited a sermon which proved the rightness of Imam Hussain (a.s) and the wrongdoing of Yazid.
