Rahyafte (The Guided Ones)
🔹 Verse 81 – Surah An-Nisa | Wilayah and Mahdavi Perspective 🌙 The Noble Verse “They say, ‘[We pledge] obedience [to you].’ But when they leave you, a group of them spend the night planning other than what you say; but Allah records what they plan by night.…
🔹 Verse 83 — Surah An-Nisa | Wilayah and Mahdawi Explanation

🌙 The Noble Verse

“And when there comes to them news of [public] security or fear, they spread it around. But if they had referred it to the Messenger or to those of authority among them, then the ones who can draw correct conclusions from it would have known [the truth]. And if it had not been for the favor of Allah upon you and His mercy, you would have followed Satan, except for a few.” (Qur’an 4:83)

✍️ Wilayah Narrations

✅ Imam al-Baqir (peace be upon him) 💬 said: “The ‘those in authority’ (Ulul Amr) in this verse are the infallible Imams (a.s.), whom the people must refer to in significant matters.” 📚 Tafsir Ahl al-Bayt, v.3 | Bihar al-Anwar

✅ Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) 💬 said: “We are the true possessors of authority whom Allah commanded people to refer to for guidance on news and issues.” 📚 Da‘aim al-Islam | Al-Burhan

✅ Imam al-Ridha (peace be upon him) 💬 said: “People fall into confusion and doubt because they fail to refer to those who have the capacity to extract true knowledge. This verse declares that the rightful source of interpretation is the family of Muhammad (s), who hold the knowledge of the Qur’an.” 📚 Bihar al-Anwar | Al-Burhan

✅ Imam Ali (peace be upon him) 💬 often said (to Ibn Abbas and in letters to Mu‘awiya): “We Ahl al-Bayt are the ones firmly rooted in knowledge, and the people must leave the interpretation of matters to us.” 📚 Bihar al-Anwar

✅ Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) 💬 said: “The ‘favor’ in this verse refers to the Prophet (s), and the ‘mercy’ refers to the guardianship of Amir al-Mu’minin Ali (a.s.).” 📚 Bihar al-Anwar

🌟 Wilayah Insight

🔹 This verse establishes a core principle of the system of Wilayah: in every significant social, political, or security matter, the rightful point of reference must be the infallible Imams — just as the Prophet (s) was during his lifetime, his rightful successors (the Ahl al-Bayt) hold this authority after him.
🔹 Neglecting this principle leads to rumor-mongering, anxiety, and mismanagement — exactly what happened in early Islam when the guardianship of Ali (a.s.) was sidelined.

✨ Mahdawi Insight

🔸 In the era of occultation, the scholarly and religious authority of Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance) and the qualified jurists (fuqaha) as his general deputies remains in force.
🔸 This verse affirms the principle of referring back: the Shia community must turn to the rightful deputies of the Imam in all crises and social issues — not to shallow analyses or baseless reports.

✅ Wilayah & Mahdawi Conclusion

✔️ This verse clearly testifies that the sole legitimate source for interpreting religion and guiding the affairs of the Ummah is the Ahl al-Bayt (a.s.).
✔️ Anyone who separates the community’s affairs from the guardianship and knowledge of the Prophet’s family will fall into ignorance and the trap of Satan.
