📖 The Virtue of God's Sincere Servants – Surah Al-Ma'idah, Verse 54 Allah says in the Holy Qur’an: "O you who believe! Whoever among you turns back from his religion—Allah will bring forth a people He loves and who love Him; humble towards the believers…
📖 Divine Authority in Surah Al-Ma’idah (5:55): The Virtue of Imam Ali (AS) and the Ahl al-Bayt (AS)

Allah declares in the Holy Qur’an:

"Your only Guardian (Wali) is Allah, His Messenger, and those who believe — those who establish prayer and give zakat while bowing down [in prayer]."
📍 [Surah Al-Ma'idah, 5:55]

🌟 Qur’anic Wilayah & the Ahl al-Bayt in Authentic Narrations

1️⃣ Revealed About Imam Ali (AS)
Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said:

“This verse was revealed about Ali ibn Abi Talib (AS).”
📚 Bihar al-Anwar, vol. 35, p. 198

Imam al-Baqir (AS) affirmed:

The verse refers to the moment Imam Ali (AS), while in ruku‘ (bowing), gave his ring in charity to a beggar.
📚 Bihar al-Anwar, vol. 35, p. 200

2️⃣ The Historic Act of Charity During Prayer
Multiple narrations describe how a poor man asked for help in the Prophet’s Mosque. Imam Ali (AS), in the middle of his prayer and while bowing, pointed to his ring and gave it as charity.
Afterward, the Prophet (PBUH) said:

“Whoever I am his Mawla (master), Ali is his Mawla.”
📚 Bihar al-Anwar, vol. 37, p. 128

3️⃣ "Those Who Believe" Means the Imams (AS)
Imam al-Baqir (AS) explained:

“The phrase ‘those who believe’ in this verse refers to the infallible Imams (AS).”
📚 Al-Kafi, vol. 1, p. 187

Imam al-Ridha (AS) in a famous debate, highlighted that the Qur’an explicitly affirms the Wilayah of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS).
📚 Uyun Akhbar al-Ridha, vol. 1, p. 237

4️⃣ Connection to Ghadir Khumm
Imam al-Sadiq (AS) stated:

“This verse was revealed on the Day of Ghadir Khumm when the Prophet (PBUH) declared the Wilayah of Imam Ali (AS).”
📚 Al-Kafi, vol. 1, p. 289

🧭 Practical Reflections from the Verse of Wilayah:

✅ Obedience to Divine Authority:
True leadership in Islam stems from God, His Messenger, and the Imams (AS). Recognizing their authority is essential to faith.

✅ Charity with Sincerity:
Imam Ali’s act of giving in ruku‘ reflects ultimate sincerity — combining worship with compassion.

✅ Qur’anic Proof of Imamate:
This verse is among the clearest evidences for the immediate Imamate of Ali (AS) and the eleven Imams who followed.

🌱 Final Thought:
The Verse of Wilayah is a luminous testimony to the unmatched rank of Imam Ali (AS) and the inseparable link between the Qur’an and the Ahl al-Bayt (AS).
As the Prophet (PBUH) declared:

“I leave behind two weighty things: the Book of Allah and my Ahl al-Bayt. They shall never be separated until they return to me at the Fountain.”
📚 Sahih al-Tirmidhi, vol. 5, p. 662

"That is the grace of Allah which He bestows on whom He wills. And Allah is the Lord of great bounty."
