Devotees have cleared the premises of Thalakkadkavu temple ruins in Malappuram Kerala. The temple was destroyed during invasion of Hyder Ali many centuries back and temple lying in ruins ever since.

Devaprashnam will be conducted this month Dec 2020, to determine the nature of Deity and to firm up restoration plan.

This temple will be restored by UgraNarasimha Charitable Trust.

Devaprashnam was conducted at Thalakkadkavu temple ruins on 28 Dec 2020. This temple was destroyed by Hyder Ali, father of Tipu Sultan centuries back and has been lying in ruins ever since.

We have started efforts to restore this temple. During Devaprashnam, it was found that the Divinity in the temple is still present and needs to be strengthened through various kriyas the before the restoration work begin. It was decided to conduct Namajapam every week. The astrologers deliberated upon the Deities to be worshipped and restoration.

The entire village community is excited to be part of the revival and turned out in large numbers during the Devaprashnam ritual.

Pranala is the water outlet from the Garbagriha. Makara pranala is used in the Garbagriha of Thalakkadkavu Bhagavati temple, Malappuram.

Makara is vahana of river Goddesses like Narmada, Ganga and are considered guardians of the entryway to temples.
