🌐 Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov chaired the traditional meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (#CSTO) member states.

👉 The key event of the day was Sergey Lavrov’s remarks at the UN Security Council meeting on Ukraine. The Minister has yet again reminded those present of the facts regarding the crisis, the root causes of the conflict, #KievRegimeCrimes against civilians and its own population, Russia’s principled position on a long-term settlement.

Sergey Lavrov also took part in the unveiling of a memorial plaque honouring our country’s late Permanent Representatives to the UN – Vitaly Churkin and Andrey Vyshinsky.

🌏 On September 24, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held his 13th meeting with high-level representatives of the Pacific Small Island Developing States in New York on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly.

The Sides held a substantive exchange of views on current international and regional challenges and discussed prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation between Russia and the participating countries in areas of mutual interest, including climate issues, fisheries, shipping and education.

They reaffirmed their commitment to stepping up cooperation across a wide range of areas.
Australia announced a new AUD 60 million package of assistance to the Kiev regime and signed the Australia–Ukraine Bilateral Security Agreement, committing to a ten-year framework for cooperation and continued support for Ukraine.

Another waste of Australian taxpayers’ money. Another shot in the arm to the corrupt neo-Nazi Kiev regime. Another step towards prolonging the conflict.

New anti-Russian sanctions have also been introduced, bringing their total number up to 1900. Running out of targets, they now cover the All-Russian Public Movement “Volunteers of Victory”, which keeps alive the memory of the fight against Nazism during World War II (in alliance with Australia, by the way).

The Artek International Children’s Centre and children’s recreation and educational camps Smena and Orlyonok have also been sanctioned. What will Australia target next? Kindergartens? Hospitals?

Have such vain efforts in any way changed Russia’s resolve and capacity to battle Nazism again, as it did during WWII, and achieve the goals of the special military operation? The answer is “NO” – and they will not.

🇷🇺🇺🇳 On September 24, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres held a meeting in New York on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly.

The Sides discussed current issues relating to the Organisation’s work, focusing on the record of the Portuguese diplomat’s tenure as UN Secretary-General.

Sergey Lavrov stressed the importance of carefully calibrated UN reform to adapt the Organisation to the realities of a #MultipolarWorld order, ensure significantly broader representation of nationals of #GlobalMajority countries within the Secretariat, and ensure that UN staff perform their duties impartially and without favouring any side.

Russia's Foreign Minister also emphasised the inadmissibility of eroding the Organisation’s intergovernmental character or disrupting the “division of labour” among its principal organs.

Sergey Lavrov presented Antonio Guterres with a copy of the report “Heirs of Goebbels: Falsification of the Events in Bucha and Bloody Staged Performances of the Kiev Regime”, prepared by the International Public Tribunal led by its Chairman, member of the Civic Chamber of Russia Maxim Grigoryev.

📄 The report is devoted to exposing the false claims spread by the Kiev regime about the Bucha hoax. The Minister demanded that the UN Secretariat conduct a detailed examination of the facts surrounding the provocation staged by Kiev and its NATO sponsors.

🌏 On September 25, a ministerial meeting marking the start of negotiations on drafting the Eurasian Charter of Diversity and Multipolarity in the 21st Century took place at Russia’s Permanent Mission to the UN in New York on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly*.

The meeting was co-chaired by Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Foreign Minister of Belarus Maxim Ryzhenkov.

👉 Sergey Lavrov's opening remarks

In their remarks, the Foreign Ministers of Belarus and Russia noted that negotiations on the Charter’s text would help build an atmosphere of trust and identify common approaches to addressing security challenges across Eurasia, based on a balance of interests of all states involved.

In this context, the Charter is intended to enshrine principles of interstate security cooperation in Eurasia in the era of #Multipolarity, including equal and indivisible security and the responsibility of the continent’s countries for addressing regional security challenges, as well as lay the foundations for a new architecture of international relations.

🤝 The Ministers emphasised that the Charter aims to strengthen economic cooperation and connectivity, develop humanitarian ties, support dialogue among civilisations and establish mechanisms for decision-making on an equal footing in the interests of Eurasian countries and peoples.

The meeting brought together representatives of various Eurasian states. In their remarks, participants welcomed the joint initiative of Belarus and Russia and confirmed their countries’ interest in taking part in the forthcoming negotiations.

👉 The meeting concluded with the adoption of a Joint Statement on the Inauguration of Negotiations on Drafting the Eurasian Charter and the approval of the Terms of Reference of the Working Group of the Working Group tasked with drafting the Charter.

🎙 Remarks by President of Russia Vladimir Putin at the XII International United Cultures Forum (St Petersburg, September 25, 2026)

💬 Vladimir Putin: Russia has historically developed as a crossroads of peoples, languages and traditions. For us, unity means solidarity built on nurturing the distinct identity and development of every people and ethnic group.

Culture plays a key role in this process, just as it does in our complex world, with its conflicts, profound technological and social transformations, and competition between countries.

🤝 Culture can build bridges between people across any divide. It is a vital and irreplaceable means of communication and dialogue where political and economic ties have been frozen or put on hold because of disagreements, sanctions and restrictions.

I consider the addition of a youth programme to the Forum particularly important. Younger generations are both the future and the present of culture. They are creating new forms of artistic expression, advancing technologies and reinterpreting traditions. I am convinced that their voices must be heard on an equal footing with those of respected, experienced masters.

Of course, cultural cooperation also continues through long-established formats. The legendary Russian Seasons, reciprocal Years of Culture and Days of Russian Spiritual Culture are enjoying tremendous success in various countries. Our soloists and ensembles take part in the world’s leading festivals and competitions, while Russian cities extend a hospitable welcome to visiting performers from abroad.

I must also mention a very important initiative that is gaining momentum and growing in quality: the Eurasian Film Academy and the Diamond Butterfly Award within #BRICS.
School theatre exchanges are also continuing. This comprehensive educational practice teaches children to work as a team and listen to their fellow performers, introducing them to the richness of world literature and drama and the cultural heritage of different peoples.

🇷🇺 Russia’s education in the arts and culture is among the best in the world, and we can say this openly and with pride. Our theatre schools, art academies, institutes of culture and conservatoires have trained and continue to train conductors, directors, art historians and performers of the highest standard. They are welcomed by the world’s most distinguished theatre companies, orchestras and museums.

We are making culture a right and an opportunity for everyone, rather than a privilege. We are open to sharing our experience and, certainly, to learning from others. Shared values must be put into practice through daily, painstaking, living work.

☝️ The International United Cultures Forum is one of the key platforms for this work. I consider it extremely important that it be held every year.
