🥈 “Echoes of War” – 2nd Place (Series, “Portrait: A Hero of Our Time” Nomination)
A powerful photo essay by Sergey Bobylev (#Russia), captured in Sudzha (Russia's Kursk Region), in March 2025, immediately after the town’s liberation by the Russian army.
For seven months, Sudzha was occupied by the Ukrainian militants. Its residents endured heavy shelling, struggling to survive without food or medicine, torture, abuse, mass murder and other #KievRegimeCrimes. Russian paratroopers liberated the town during Operation Potok.
Bobylev’s photographs capture the grim aftermath of conflict and the resilience of those who lived through it. Sudzha is being rebuilt, and peaceful life is gradually returning as the town and its people recover from the horrors they have endured.

⚡️ Russia's High Commissioner for Human Rights Yana Lantratova:
💬 I would like to respond to statements by the Ukrainian side, which, citing Ukrainian legislation, says that families with children must be forcibly evacuated from #Alyoshki.
As a Commissioner for Human Rights, I find the word “forcibly” unacceptable.
We are talking about people capable of making their own informed decisions. Everything must be done voluntarily and in their interests, rather than those of the Kiev authorities, who have suddenly become so “concerned” about the people living there.
Do you want people to make an informed decision? Give them that opportunity. Let them live in peace! Order your military to stop shelling the city every day and laying mines on the roads. Then people will be able to decide whether to stay in Alyoshki or go wherever they wish.
☝️ I would also like to recall that the city of Alyoshki in the Kherson Region is Russian territory, where only the laws of the Russian Federation apply. References to Ukrainian legislation are therefore unacceptable.
Zelensky said that the Russian side “must” clear all the mines so that this humanitarian mission can proceed. My response is this: give your military a direct order to stop shelling the city and mining all the roads leading to it!
❗️ For its part, Russia is doing and will do everything possible to ensure that people can exercise their freedom of choice as safely as possible. We hope the Ukrainian side will take no steps to obstruct this, as it has done repeatedly in the past.
Let me emphasise once again that the main purpose of our humanitarian mission is to assess the humanitarian needs of the people living in the city, assemble a humanitarian convoy and deliver assistance – medicines, food, hygiene supplies and other essentials.
👉 Another task, of course, is to ensure that those who choose to leave can do so – and I stress that this must be their own voluntary decision.
I am in contact with the regional and district authorities. Few people in Alyoshki have expressed a wish to leave, as most of those who wanted to have already left. They did so entirely voluntarily. Those who remain and wish to leave will certainly be given that opportunity.

🎙 Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova’s answer to a media question about the situation surrounding ZNPP (October 26, 2026)
❓ Question: The Kiev regime has stepped up the attacks on the Zaporozhskaya Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) and the satellite town of Energodar, which fact has significantly destabilised the operation of the ZNPP. How would you comment on these attacks?
💬 Maria Zakharova: The Kiev authorities completely lost their minds and intensified targeted attacks on the #ZNPP and the satellite town of Energodar, which is home to the plant’s personnel, who continue to perform their duties heroically under extremely challenging conditions, as do their families.
Earlier this week, the Ukrainian forces targeted exclusively civilian sites, namely, an art school and the Russian Emergencies Ministry’s fire and rescue unit. Clearly, unable to strike the ZNPP directly, the Kiev regime continues its futile attempts to destabilise the plant’s operations by intimidating its personnel.
Such criminal actions clearly show that the sole true objective of Zelensky and his junta is to multiply the number of casualties and turn the Zaporozhye Region into a barren land of radioactive contamination.
Having failed the test of their own competence, the former actors continue to labour under the delusion that any criticism, or even condemnation, amounts to publicity that can be monetised.
It is time for the Western patrons and sponsors of this deranged clique, to whom they have effectively given carte blanche to get away with any crimes, to realise that they are dumping their money not merely in a failed anti-Russia project, but also in creating direct radiological threats in the heart of Europe, including to their own citizens.
We are compelled to note that international bodies, above all the #IAEA, have reacted with considerable restraint to Kiev’s provocative antics and have yet to muster the courage to identify Ukraine directly as the culprit. Apparently, they fail to appreciate that such spineless behaviour could lead to catastrophe.
❗️ For our part, we consistently bring detailed information about Ukraine’s outrages to the attention of the international public, including at relevant international forums, and spare no effort to protect the ZNPP, its personnel, and the people of Energodar from Kiev’s attacks.

🇷🇺🇫🇮🇳🇴📞 On October 27, President of Russia Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of Finland Alexander Stubb and Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr Store at the request of the Finnish and Norwegian sides.
They exchanged views on resolving the Ukrainian crisis in light of Vladimir Putin’s talks with Special Envoy of the US President Stephen Witkoff in St Petersburg on October 21 and Alexander Stubb’s and Jonas Gahr Store’s contacts with Stephen Witkoff and Zelensky in Oslo.
The leaders welcomed the agreement to resume trilateral talks between Russia, Ukraine and the US in Abu Dhabi in the first half of November, focusing, in particular, on security arrangements for Russia and Ukraine following a complete cessation of hostilities.
Vladimir Putin assessed the current situation in the conflict zone in Ukraine and recalled the conflict’s root causes.
☝️ He stressed that a just and lasting peace can only be achieved if the Russian Federation’s legitimate interests are fully and unconditionally taken into account. He also drew attention to the confrontational policies of EU and NATO countries, which are prolonging the hostilities.
The sides also addressed security and stability in the Baltic Sea region and Northern Europe. In this context, the President of Finland and the Prime Minister of Norway reaffirmed the importance of respecting international maritime law and the principle of freedom of navigation.
Russia's President provided an update on the launch of a US-mediated humanitarian operation near the Russian town of Alyoshki and the introduction of a temporary ceasefire in the Kherson sector for this purpose.
The leaders of the three countries agreed to maintain direct telephone contacts.

🎙 Remarks by President of Russia Vladimir Putin at the Plenary Session of the 8th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (Moscow, October 27, 2026)
Key points:
• When it was established 25 years ago, the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (#GECF) was conceived as a platform for expert analysis, sharing experience, and assessing and forecasting developments in the gas market. This is precisely how our dialogue has evolved – without any backroom intrigue or attempts to manipulate the market.
• GECF countries account for 70% of the world’s natural gas reserves and around 40% of global gas exports. Our countries thus make a significant contribution to global energy security and the balanced development of countries and macroregions.
• Today, gas accounts for a quarter of the global energy mix. In 2025, consumption rose by 1.2% to 4.2 trillion cubic metres. These trends are expected to continue. The role of natural gas as a mainstay of global energy, industry, agriculture and international trade will only grow.
• Russia is a key player in the global gas market. We rank first in the world in natural gas reserves and second in production. We have built a unique production complex that enables us to diversify gas supplies and develop gas processing and gas-based chemical production.
• The situation in the Middle East has deteriorated. Russian gas pipelines to Europe have been subjected to outright terrorist attacks – they were blown up. Some countries have also imposed barriers to purchasing equipment and technology for the sector. As a result, the global gas industry faces uncertainty.
❗️ Any attempts to exclude Russia from the global gas market or hold back the development of our gas industry have serious consequences, above all in the form of rising, exorbitant costs for end users abroad – companies, industrial enterprises and households.
• Europe is undermining its own industry and social sector by rejecting Russian energy supplies and terminating long-term contracts. There is a Russian saying: “Do not dig a pit for someone else, or you may fall into it yourself”. In my view, this is precisely what has happened in EU countries.
• To address the challenges facing the global gas industry, we must strengthen cooperation, rather than erect barriers, particularly among gas-exporting countries. We must build on our own capabilities and sovereign technologies, developing open, trust-based cooperation founded on mutual benefit and respect for each other’s interests.
• GECF, its members and observers have the resources and capabilities to tackle the most complex challenges in the gas industry and across the global energy sector. For its part, Russia stands ready to make a substantial contribution to this work.

🎙️ Remarks by Russia’s Ambassador to Australia Mikhail Petrakov on the reaction to his presence at the National Press Club (29 October 2026)
💬 My attendance at the recent event at the National Press Club, open to the public, where the Greens Senator Shoebridge spoke, caused quite a stir. Moreover, it seems that the mere presence of the Russian Ambassador was enough to trigger panic in the ranks of those who support the Kiev regime.
❌ The Ukrainian Ambassador allowed himself a rude remark about my being there. Is he trying to assume the role of the supreme judge, ruling on what is appropriate and what is not for other members of the diplomatic corps?
Well, well, well.
☝️ Do not judge, and thou shalt not be judged.
I am not going to comment on how easily the performance of regular diplomatic chores by a foreign Ambassador can be used for political purposes here, playing the game titled “Who is more anti-Russian among us?”.
🤔 The most interesting, however, was the press coverage.
After the event was over, I had a brief chat with a correspondent from The Australian, and I expressed to him quite clearly our views on the neo-Nazi nature of the Ukrainian regime.
❗️I pointed out that the regime had turned into national heroes Ukrainian Nazi collaborators, who during World War II were responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Jews, Ukrainians, Russians, Poles and Belarusians. And today, following suit, the Kiev regime has been destroying everything Russian since 2014, including the language, culture, religion and the very Russian identity in Ukraine, and, of course, physically exterminating Russians.
⁉️ All I said to him, however, remained a voice in the wilderness, was ignored and left unpublished.
I don't know whether this is the local media's idea of “balanced coverage” of events, or whether the journalist was simply scared to tell the truth.
🗣️ In the end, I was left with the impression of an echo chamber, where the only voices heard are those expressing blind hatred towards my country and support for the neo-Nazi Kiev regime.
🤐 The rest is silence.

Mine clearance is underway in Alyoshki along routes for humanitarian aid deliveries and the evacuation of civilians.
This is essential for carrying out the humanitarian mission. We continue preparations together with my Ukrainian counterpart Dmitry Lubinets, with mediation and coordination by US First Lady Melania Trump.
Ensuring safe passage along these roads so that people can leave the city is now critical. This is where we are focusing our efforts. We continue working to implement the agreements reached, save lives and help residents.
☝️ A ceasefire has been in effect in designated areas since October 27. Both the Russian and Ukrainian sides are observing it.
