امام محمد بن عثمان الذھبی رحمہ اللہ اپنی تاریخ وسوانح پر لکھی گئی مشہور کتاب ’’سير أعلام النبلاء‘‘ ج 7 ص 362 ط مؤسسة الرسالة، الطبقة السابعة، الحسن بن صالح میں فرماتے ہیں:
ابن صالح بن حی، اور حی کا نام: حَيَّانُ بْنُ شُفَيِّ بْنِ هُنَيِّ بْنِ رَافِعٍ تھا۔ بہت بڑے امام تھے، قدآور شخصیات میں سے ایک، ابو عبداللہ الہمدانی الثوری الکوفی، فقیہ وعابد تھے، امام علی بن صالح کے بھائی تھے۔
پھر امام الذہبی رحمہ اللہ فرماتے ہیں:
’’هُوَ مِنْ أَئِمَّةِ الْإِسْلَامِ، لَوْلَا تَلَبُّسُهُ بِبِدْعَةٍ‘‘
(آپ آئمہ اسلام میں سے ہوتے اگر وہ اس بدعت (حکمران کے خلاف خروج کو جائز سمجھنا) میں ملوث نہ ہوتے)۔
وکیع فرماتے ہیں: ان کی ولادت سن 100ھ میں ہوئی۔
بخاری فرماتے ہیں کہ ابو نعیم نے فرمایا: الحسن بن صالح کی وفات سن 169ھ میں ہوئی۔
الذہبی فرماتے ہیں: ان کی عمر 69 برس تھی، یہ اور ان کے بھائی جڑواں تھے۔
یہ اپنے علم وعبادت میں بہت مشہور تھے۔
آئمہ سلف کے دور میں بہت سے آئمہ کے ہم عصر تھے جیسے امام سفیان الثوری رحمہ اللہ وغیرہ، اور احادیث کے راویو ں میں سے تھے۔
بلکہ ابن نعیم فرماتے ہیں کہ مجھ سے الحسن بن صالح نے بھی حدیث بیان کی ہیں اور وہ ورع وقوت میں سفیان الثوری سے کم نہيں تھے۔

یہاں تک کہ امام ابو حاتم الرازی رحمہ اللہ جو جرج وتعدیل میں شدت اپنانے میں معروف تھے ان تک نے فرمایا:
’’آپ ثقہ حافظ اور متقن ہیں‘‘۔
اسی طرح امام احمد بن حنبل رحمہ اللہ وغیرہ نےبھی ثقہ لکھا ہے۔
خشیت اور آہ وبکاء کا یہ عالم تھے کہ یحیی بن ابی بکیر فرماتے ہیں:
’’ان سے فرمایا گیا غسل میت بیان کیجئے، تو وہ رونے کی شدت کی وجہ سے صحیح طور پر بیان ہی نہيں کرپائے‘‘۔
ان کے چہرے پر خشیت کے آثار رہتے، ابو سلیمان الدارانی فرماتے ہیں:
’’میں نے کسی کے چہرے پر خوف وخشیت کو اتنا ظاہر نہيں پایا جتنا الحسن بن صالح پر دیکھا‘‘۔
زہد وقناعت پسندی کا یہ حال تھا کہ خود فرماتے ہيں:
’’کبھی کبھار میں صبح کرتا ہوں اس حال میں کہ میرے پاس ایک درہم بھی نہيں ہوتا، تو مجھے لگتا ہے گویا کہ ساری دنیا کی خوشیاں میرے لیے سمٹ آئی ہيں‘‘۔
تقویٰ وورع ایسا کہ ایک مرتبہ ایک لونڈی فروخت کررہے تھے تو جو شخص اسے خریدنا چاہتا تھا اس کو یہ تک بتایا کہ ایک بار کبھی اس نے ہمارے پاس خون کی الٹی تھی۔
ایک مرتبہ یہ آیت ان کے سامنے تلاوت ہوئی : ﴿لَا يَحْزُنُهُمُ الْفَزَعُ الْاَكْبَرُ﴾ (الانبیاء: 103) (انہیں سب سے بڑی گھبراہٹ غمگین نہ کرے گی) تو ان کا چہرہ خوف کے مارے کبھی سبز کبھی زرد ہورہا تھا۔
انہی کے بارے میں روایت کی جاتی ہے کہ جب وہ قبرستان کو دیکھتے تو چیختے اور بیہوش ہوجاتے۔
اسی طرح بازار والوں کو بھی دیکھ کر روتے کہ یہ لوگ اسی چیز میں مگن ہیں اور موت انہيں اچانک آجائے گی۔
جعفر بن محمد بن عبید اللہ بن موسیٰ نے فرمایا، میں نے اپنے دادا سےسنا انہوں نے فرمایا:
میں علی بن صالح پر قرآن پڑھ رہا تھا جب میں اس آیت پر پہنچا: ﴿فَلَا تَعْجَلْ عَلَيْهِمْ﴾ (مریم: 84) (پس آپ ان کے بارے میں جلدی نہ کریں) تو الحسن گر گیا اور ایسی آوازیں نکالنے لگا جیسے بیل کی آواز ہوتی ہے، تو علی اس کی طرف کھڑے ہوئے، اسے اٹھایا، اس کے چہرے پر ہاتھ پھیرا، پانی کے چھینٹے ماریں اور اسے ٹیک دے کربٹھایا۔
قرآن مجید پر بہت غوروتدبر کیا کرتے یہاں تک کہ ایک دفعہ وہ قیام اللیل کررہے تھے کہ سورۃ النباء شروع کی اور ان پر غشی طاری ہوگئی، یہاں تک کہ فجر طلوع ہوگئی اور وہ سورۃ مکمل نہ کرپائے۔
قیام اللیل کی پابندی کرتے یہاں تک کہ وہ ان کا بھائی اور ان کی والدہ قیام اللیل کو آپس میں تین حصوں میں تقسیم کرلیتے ، جب ان کی والدہ وفات پاگئیں تو اپنے او ربھائی کے درمیان آدھا آدھا کرلیا، اور جب بھائی بھی وفا ت پاگئے تو پوری رات قیام کرنے لگے۔
دنیا سے زہد اور شدت غم اتنا کہ احمد بن یونس فرماتے ہیں:
’’میں ان کے پاس بیس برس بیٹھا، میں نے کبھی انہيں آسما ن کی طرف سر اٹھاتے یا دنیا کا ذکر کرتے نہيں پایا‘‘۔
ابو زرعہ الرزای تک فرماتے ہیں کہ:
’’ان کی شخصیت میں اتقان، فقہ، عبادت وزہد سب جمع تھا‘‘۔
اس سب کے باوجود سلف صالحین نے ان کو بدعتی قرار دیا، بعض نے روایات تک لینا ترک کردی، اس شدت سے کہ احمد بن یونس فرماتے ہیں:
عبادت، #علم وزہد کے باوجود ایک شخص #خارجی ہوسکتا ہے

“Then stay with her for Jannah is beneath her feet.”
