📢 UMass biologists have identified three bird species in Brazil that may be the world's loudest, with sounds reaching over 120 decibels.

🔊 Two new contenders for loudest bird, the bare-throated bellbird and the red-legged seriema, were discovered alongside the previously recognized white bellbird.

❓ The exact evolutionary reasons for these birds' extreme loudness remain a mystery, confounding initial theories about communication in dense habitats or attracting mates, especially in the case of the monogamous seriema.
