New WHO guidelines: up to 45% of dementia risk could be prevented or delayed Read Full Article #DementiaPrevention #WHOguidelines #BrainHealth
🌍 WHO releases updated guidelines on reducing dementia risk, offering evidence-based recommendations to prevent or delay cognitive decline across all life stages.
💡 Up to 45% of dementia risk is linked to modifiable factors like smoking, alcohol, social isolation, inactivity, air pollution, and noncommunicable diseases (high blood pressure, diabetes).
🧠 New advice emphasizes healthy behaviors (physical activity, diet, quitting smoking, reducing alcohol, air pollution exposure), managing health conditions (hypertension, diabetes), and potentially using hearing aids.
🚫 Supplementation with vitamins B, E, omega-3s, and multivitamins is not recommended without diagnosed deficiency due to lack of proven benefits.
