The Indian middle class drives consumption, accounting for 4 out of 5 rupees spent today, a share projected to rise above 9 out of 10 rupees by 2036.

Income-tax payers more than doubled from 5.26 crore in 2013-14 to 12.13 crore in 2024-25, and GST taxpayers reached 1.64 crore by April 2026.

While overall unemployment dropped to 3.1% in 2025, graduate unemployment remains high at 11.2%, with only 56.35% of graduates considered employable.

Shift towards wealth creation through simplified tax structures (income tax-free up to โน12 lakh) and better MSME credit access through CGTMSE and TReDS.

Out-of-pocket healthcare expenses fell from 64.2% in 2013-14 to 39.4% today, backed by high-tech industrial investments in semiconductors and electronics exports worth โน13 lakh crore.
