Is a ₹90,000 crore mega-project worth losing one of India's last untouched ecosystems?
The Great Nicobar project promises a major strategic port and airport. But it’s also threatening the ancient Shompen and Nicobarese tribes, along with thousands of trees. 🌳
We shouldn't have to choose between national security and protecting our indigenous people and forests.
Progress isn't progress if it leaves our most vulnerable behind.
What do you guys think?

Continuing our Draw the Diagram series for the NCERT Class 11's Physical Geography Book.
Draw this once seeing the pic and then draw it again without seeing it.
This one will take a little longer because it has a lot of terms
So these are some distinctions students often confuse..
Sill vs. Dyke: It is extremely easy to mix these two up when trying to label a blank diagram.
Sill: Magma that pools parallel to the rock layers (horizontal). Trick: Think of a flat windowsill.
Dyke: Magma that cuts vertically or diagonally across the rock layers.
The "Liths" (Batholith vs. Laccolith):
Batholith: This is the massive, deep, irregular foundation of cooled magma at the very bottom.
Laccolith: This has a distinct dome shape. Notice in the diagram how it physically pushes layers above it upward into a bulge.
Stock vs. Batholith: A stock is easily forgotten, but it is simply a smaller, separate intrusion that looks similar to a bacolith
Let me know if there are any confusions..and react 👍 once done.

Delhi is launching its winter smog strategy 5 months early, mandating 50% WFH starting November 1.
But municipal governance alone isn't enough :
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝗽: Weak last-mile connectivity keeps private vehicle reliance dangerously high despite Metro expansions.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗹𝗮w: Temporary bans are short-term band-aids. We need frameworks rewarding emission cuts, not reactive coercion.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Smog ignores state borders . This is a regional air-shed crisis stretching from Punjab to Bengal.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝘅: Cooperative federalism. The Centre must lead states in a unified, regional decarbonization strategy.
Will city-only WFH mandates actually make a dent this year?

We treat India's water crisis like a weather problem, but it's actually a governance challenge.
As Per CEEW, 11 of 15 major river basins are water-stressed. Some have crossed into absolute scarcity.
𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀
• Erratic monsoons and droughts
• Ageing, leaky infrastructure
• Over-extracted groundwater and flood irrigation
• Poor wastewater reuse and missing data
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝘆 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱
• Climate-proof infrastructure
• Circular economy for wastewater
• Micro-irrigation and crop shifts
• AI, smart meters, and real-time tracking
• Community-led groundwater governance
Our water future is in our hands, not just the clouds.
