However, one of the things I really like about reading with the Fool’s Dog Sampler deck is that, because there are so many cards (almost 400!), as you read with it often, individual cards begin to take on special meanings just for me. For example, this card always makes me think of my late mother, of blessed memory. She was also a fabric artist, and her favorite color was blue. What have you done to resolve your spiritual debt?
The one that came with your knowing, where ignorance and your own struggle are no longer an excuse?
This is the standard for trust.
I don't need an explanation of unnatural law or the way it has impacted your own journey here, I understand the spirit of this land completely.

The Völuspá – A Mythic Timeline of Germanic Lore
Völuspá presents us with a mythic timeline—from the birth of the cosmos to the fall of the gods. Told through the voice of a völva (seeress), the poem recounts both ancient memories and visions of what is still to come.
It opens in the earliest ages—before earth, sea, or sky existed. Then the sons of Borr raise the land and form Midgard. The gods shape time by naming the sun and moon, building sacred spaces, and forging tools. In this golden age, they live in peace, playing tafl.
The völva tells of the creation of mankind, when Óðinn, Hœnir, and Lóðurr find lifeless shapes and gift them with soul, breath, and form—thus creating Askr and Embla, the first humans.
She speaks of Yggdrasil, the great ash tree watered by the Norns—Urðr, Verðandi, and Skuld—who shape the destiny of men. She recalls the first war, when Gullveig is burned and reborn, and the Æsir and Vanir clash until peace is forged and hostages exchanged.
We hear of Óðinn's sacrifice at Mimir’s well for wisdom, the death of Baldr at the hands of Höðr, and the mourning of Frigg. She paints a vivid picture of the underworld, the cursed dead, and the rise of monstrous beings like Fenrir in the Ironwood.
Then the völva shifts from memory to prophecy. Now she sees what is still to come: roosters crow, bonds break, and chaos stirs. Heimdallr sounds the Gjallarhorn. Yggdrasil trembles. Loki sails the ship Naglfar. And the gods prepare for their final battle.
Völuspá is not just myth—it is a structured, epic tale. A prophetic song spanning creation, conflict, and the end of all things.
