🌎Earthshot Prize🌏
● Vidyut Mohan, a Delhi-based entrepreneur, won the inaugural edition of The Earthshot Prize.
● He won it for his innovative technology that recycles agricultural waste to create fuel.
● The award was set up by Prince William and Royal Foundation, the charity founded by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
● Earthshot Prize is also called the “Eco Oscars”.
● Objective:
»To honour five finalists between 2021 and 2030 for developing solutions to fight the climate crisis.
● The prize is inspired by US President John F Kennedy’s “Moonshot” programme, which resulted in the US Apollo lunar launches and the first man setting foot on the Moon in 1969.

💥Network for Greening the Financial System(NGFS)💥
● Launched at the Paris One Planet Summit in 2017
● Objective: Group of central banks and supervisors share best practices and contribute to the development of environment and climate risk management in the financial sector.
● Members: It includes central banks and financial supervisors.
● Secretariat: It is hosted by the Banque de France in Paris.
● Why in the News?
Reserve Bank of India(RBI) has joined the Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS) as a Member.
