$$ Pradhan Mantri Innovation Learning Programme – DHRUV is a 14-day learning programme launched by Ministry of HRD in ISRO HQ in Bengaluru.
$$ 60 brightest and talented students from Science, Mathematics and Performing Arts have been chosen for the programme.
$$ It aims to further sharpen innovative imagination, skills and knowledge of the students to bring solutions to socio-economic, political and environmental issues in the country.

Deflecting an Asteroid
1-NASA’s DART( Double Asteroid Impact Test) mission, aims to deflect ‘Didymos B’, the “moonlet” of the Didymos asteroid system.
2-It is to prove the technique as a viable method of planetary defence.
3-Among all the causes that may cause extinction of life on Earth, an asteroid hit is widely acknowledged as one of the likeliest.
4-The mission, includes NASA and the European Space Agency, is known as the ‘Asteroid Impact Deflection Assessment’ (AIDA).
5-Didymos is a near-Earth asteroid system.
6-The project aims to deflect the orbit of the smaller body through an impact by one spacecraft.
7-Then a second spacecraft will survey the crash site and gather the maximum possible data on the effect of this collision.
8- Flying along with DART will be an Italian-made miniature CubeSat, called LICIACube, to record the moment of impact.
9-ESA’s contribution is a mission called ‘Hera’, which will perform a close-up survey of the post-impact asteroid.

1-Mining the ocean can be devastating to the natural ecosystems.
2-When the ocean floor is mined, a cloud of sediment rises up in the water, interfering with photosynthetic processes of phytoplankton and other marine life.
3-In addition to introducing benign heavy metals into the food chain, Removing parts of the sea floor could disturb the habitat of benthic organisms, with unknown long-term effects
4-Plate movements have not been established as a consequence of mining.

1-It will cover 256 districts across nation with an emphasis on 1592 stressed blocks.
The campaign will run through citizen participation during the monsoon (July 1-September 15)
2-An additional ‘Phase II’ will run from October 1 to November 30 for states receiving the northeast retreating monsoons.
3-Officers from the central government, led by additional secretaries and joint secretaries, have been assigned to these 256 districts.
4-The district administration will also nominate two members to join this team.
5-The conservation efforts will be supplemented by ‘krishi vigyan kendra melas' to promote efficient water use for irrigation and better crop choices
6-A large-scale ‘Communication campaign’ has also been planned alongside the JSA involving mass mobilization of different groups.
