This pic of me and Rob Acson was from an event last night where a documentary on Kratom was shown. Kratom is very addictive and is sold at gas stations and health food stores. I support Sen McKell's SB 45 to regulate this product and ban certain forms of it. The documentary said 24 million Americans are using Kratom. I am just learning about this. Stay away from it!
The dinner was sold out! It was a definite success. Our speaker was so entertaining. His name was Larry Earl Schweikart. He is an American historian and retired professor of history at the University of Dayton. He wrote "A Patriot's History of the United States." I have read that book. It is excellent.
This is so interesting. This bill was sponsored by Rep Matt Macpherson. It has already gone into law. It allows lawsuits involving the State of Utah to be moved to a three judge panel for litigation. The redistricting case and our abortion trigger law will be moved to this three judge panel. It will be very interesting to watch this.
The law, passed as H.B. 392 and its companion S.J.R. 5, was signed by the Governor 10 days ago. It gives the attorney general an “unconditional right to intervene in a civil action in a district court,” and gives the legislature and Governor the ability to move the case if they’re a party.
GOP Senate leaders say questions of constitutionality deserve a broader, statewide look than Utah’s third district — where they accuse special interest groups of often filing.

Four high-profile cases against the state could be moved from their current district judge to newly created three-judge panels, according to court filings in each case.

This is absolutely terrible what is happening in Mexico. It shows how entrenched the cartel is in Mexico. Mexico needs to use its law enforcement and military to go after them.

Update on HB 479. This bill requires voter ID. It is one of our top priority bills. I spoke with the sponsor this evening and he is still trying to confirm votes to get it out of the house committee. I am going to work on specific members of the committee in the morning and ask for their Impact Text Groups to text them as their constituents and tell them how important Voter ID is and that the citizens want it. If we can get it out of committee I will make a high priority action item for everyone to text their legislators about Voter ID.
Rep Peck told me she needs support tomorrow for H.B. 149 S2 Sexual Material Modifications. It will be in the House Economic and Workforce Services Committee at 4:00 Senate Building 110. She needs people that will testify during public comment in support of the bill.
It allows a person who has been the victim of child sexual abuse to have a cause of action so it makes it easier for them to sue to seek damages for what they have been through.

The most wanted man in the western hemisphere has been killed. This would never have happened without Trump's leadership.

Well done Rep Macpherson! He stated what we do with tax payer dollars is different than charity. To act as if in the name of charity the government should be able to take money people have earned and selectively give it to people here illegally is wrong. That is not charity and the government has no right to misuse tax dollars that way.

I just sent several texts about HB 88. This is what I sent:
Please support HB 88 so money isn't taken out of the pockets of people here legally that are barely making it and given to people here illegally. Let's put Utahns first!
