Now they are talking about SB 275 State Endorsed Digital Identity Program Amendments

Chris Bramwell is speaking. He is the chief privacy officer for the state. This bill codifies a Digital Bill of Rights.

Now a man from the public is speaking. He said that Digital ID is already here. This bill says that identity belongs to the individual.

Another man from the public is speaking. He is saying that this bill prohibits tracking. We have the opportunity to export what we are doing and show others how to do digital identity right.

Now another man is speaking from the Utah Block Chain Coalition. He is saying if we sit back and let digital ID just happen it could track us and have the ability to control us. He said he supports this bill.

The bill just passed unanimously.

I am in the House Education Committee now. Senator Millner is the sponsor for SB 241 Early Literacy. This bill would require assessments K-3. For those that are not on track a reading plan would be created for them. Now a principal from a rural school is speaking. She is saying five years ago only 50% of the kids could read proficiently. They started using The Science of Reading program. They made a reading program for each kid based on their assessment. They have now hit the 70% rate. They want to reach 100% proficiently. That just passed 9-2.
What I would like to know is what other reading programs are already in place and how much money is already being spent on this issue.

We are now talking about SB 268 Religious Curriculum in schools. This is definitely a bill we support. The guest presenter is talking about how there has been a chilling effect on teaching about religion in school. There is so much that needs to be taught about religion without promoting a certain religion. Religious liberty is central to our Constitution. This needs to be taught about. The presenter said FDR had a prayer over the radio with the American people the night before D-Day.
There are several people that have spoken in favor of the bill. There is another former teacher testifying now. He is opposed to the bill. He said it will push christian nationalism onto the kids.
This bill just passed unanimously. I am going to head home because it is getting late.

I pray that the people of Iran will be able to take back their country and government. Think of the suffering and all those that have been killed by their own government.

This bill requires an employer that has 100 or more employees to use e-verify to check citizenship status. I wish the number were lower, but grateful for the work done by the sponsor.

I was watching some of the videos about Iran tonight with my son Alex. I told him he is watching history be made. This is a very big deal. I am grateful for President Trump's strength and leadership.

I kept looking at HB 386 and I could see it passed the house but it was being held. I finally asked my friend who works for the legislature and he said they don't have a senate sponsor. Sure enough the word started to get around that the bill to prevent illegals from getting tax payer benefits didn't have a senate sponsor. No one in the senate would sponsor it. That is extremely disappointing and frustrating. It is time that Utah citizens are put above those that are here illegally. Many citizens do not get the benefits those here illegally do.

This bill requires a video about human development when kids are being taught about that. It shows how early the heart starts beating. This bill is meant to discourage abortion as a better understanding is gained of just how complex the fetus is within just a couple of weeks.

I was very sad that HB 479 Election Code Modifications was held in the senate committee today. This bill required voter ID when returning a ballot to a dropbox. It didn't even start until 2029. We have tried the last two years to get some level of voter ID back into our elections and we cannot get any meaningful reform. 😞 How unfortunate our elections were changed to mostly mail in ballot. That opened things up to so much more fraud. It is important to note that it was again the senate where things were stopped. We can't give up. We will keep working on it.
