This bill has passed! This bill requires citizenship verification to register to vote.
Good news! HB 195 the Gold Bill has passed. This has been a wild ride. It actually failed on the senate floor and then they passed a motion to reconsider and passed it. Ken said he has been told that the governor will not veto this year. We shall see. 🙏
Final Action Item for the 2026 Session!

ONE LAST PUSH FOR HB386! I’m reaching out once again to ask if you can contact these 5 senators to ask them to hear HB386  and listen to their constituents! We’re just waiting on a senate sponsor and can still get HB386 passed! Please support in this last effort to put UTAH FIRST. This bill prevents Illegals from getting tax payer benefits. It is so easy to send a text. Text your senator to support HB 386. Put Utah citizens above illegal immigrants.
This is what I just texted my senator:

Sen Weiler,
Please support no tax payer benefits going to people here Illegally when many citizens do not qualify for medicaid and these other programs. There are so many Utah families struggling. Just today I was talking to one of my assistants at work and she told me her husband is working like 60 hours a week to try to support them. They are struggling. These are the families that have money taken from their paycheck and given to people here illegally. That is wrong.
Here is another text you can copy and paste or take information from to text your senator.

Please support HB 386 and put Utah citizens over illegal immigrants.

Arizona passed
Proposition 314 which requires the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) program to verify immigration status before enrolling individuals in financial aid or public welfare programs.

In March 2025 Idaho passed House Bill 753 which allows local law enforcement to assist federal authorities in immigration enforcement.

As neighboring states crack down on illegal immigration Utah will be more and more attractive. Illegal immigration has a negative impact on our education system, makes our roads less safe, increases crime, and drains tax dollars that belong to citizens. As the gatekeepers of our community I urge you to choose Utah citizens above illegal aliens.
Here are the snow pack totals for Utah. It said it usually peaks around beginning of April. Hopefully we will have a wet March and get that snow pack up.
I am at the dinner at the Treasurer's office. This is a tradition for the last day of the session.
All of these women have worked very hard this seasion. I just found out that Karianne Lisonbee is running against Blake Moore for Congress.
HB 501 Water Modifications is a bill we are hoping will not pass. Tonight while I was at the Capitol a person who is on the water board for Bountiful said this bill could cost households an additional 80 dollars a month for water. That is very concerning. As of right now it is circled. That means it is on hold. The sponsor can uncircle it, but we are hoping it isn't going to end up passing.
Here are two of my favorite legislators!
Rep Nicholeen Peck
Rep Mike Petersen
They are still going at the Capitol. They will end right at midnight.
SB 65 was stopped in the house committee. That is a win for Utah citizens because it would have been a tax increase.
SB 45 Kratom Adjustments passed. This is a bill we supported. It prohibits some of the forms of Kratom like the extracts. The extracts are more concentrated and therefore more dangerous. It puts more regulations around Kratom.
HB 471 is a great bill. It has passed! It put more parameters around medicaid including that only citizens can receive benefits.

a)unless required by federal law, may not provide medical assistance to any individual
unless that individual is a qualified citizen
One of the Supreme Court’s most liberal justices has sided with the administration of President Donald Trump in a deportation case. Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan denied a request from four Mexican nationals to block their deportation orders so they could file an appeal.

We are watching history be made. This is the stuff that goes in text books. It is amazing to watch an evil regime like this being taken out.

The United States has deployed B-1, B-2, and B-52 bombers simultaneously for the first time in history, as the IDF strikes over 80 targets in Iran.

Here is another pic from the last night of the session. Jennie Earl is on the USBE. She was up at the Capitol a lot this session. We are so lucky to have her.
HB 259 passed! If you can believe it parents have been having problems accessing the medical records of older kids without their permission. Good job Rep Petersen for taking this issue on and making it law that parents always have the authority to assess their kid's medical records.
SB 174 passed! This bill provides that a health care provider has a right of religious belief or conscience that permits the health care provider to refuse to provide or participate in a health care
service that violates the health care provider's religious beliefs or conscience.

Great job Sen Stratton! I just love him.
