I am so impressed by this patriotic dress made out of duck tape!
The lawsuits rely chiefly on 8 U.S.C. § 1623, enacted as part of the 1996 Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act. The provision bars a person who is not lawfully present from receiving a postsecondary benefit based on state residence unless a U.S. citizen or national can receive the same benefit without meeting that residency requirement. At the University of Vermont, the disputed rate is roughly $17,000 for in-state students, compared with nearly $47,000 for students from outside the state. Federal lawyers say that difference disadvantages nonresident U.S. citizens.

There is still plenty of time to get a text out to your state legislators. A good way to judge a policy is by its fruits. If illegal immigration continued indefinitely it would implode America. It cannot be sustained. Money cannot be taken from citizens and given to people here illegally. It would destroy America at some point. With that said every Utahn needs to text their Utah legislators and tell them tax funded programs can only go to citizens.
Talking Point 8/5 - 8/15! Please send to Utah legislators. Copy and paste it. It is so easy to send a text.

The Fifth Circuit recently ruled that federal law prevents states from providing in-state tuition benefits to illegal immigrants in United States v. Texas (July 9, 2026) unless all U.S. citizens receive the same benefit. This is happening in Utah in statute 53H-11-203. This needs to be corrected.

Senator Curtis please reconsider bringing in more migrants to become second class citizens and drive down wages overall.

In 1990, Congress legalized the annual inflow of one million migrants. Curtis’s plan would likely supercharge annual migration up to two million per year, while Americans’ birth roughly 3.5 million new Americans per year. That supercharged migration would spike housing costs and flatline wages from coast to coast.

Sam had his first bike race today as part of the mountain bike team for Woods Cross High School. We thought he did great. He came in 11th of 68 kids.
William Ellery signer of the Declaration of Independence.

It was August 1776 when most members of the Continental Congress were gathered to sign the Declaration of Independence. "I was determined to see how they all looked as they signed what might be their death warrant" he later recalled.
SB 233 from the 2021 session carved out a provision about public private partnerships (PPP) for MIDA. Normally the entity facilitating the PPP cannot receive financial benefit. This is an important check and balance for tax payers so that the facilitator is a neutral party and can watch out for the best interest of the tax payers. MIDA carved themselves out of this so the MIDA board could directly set up PPP. This created an environment where it was possible for there to be a "you do something for me and I'll do something for you" environment because MIDA could hand pick the developers it wanted and then set up its own agreement with tax dollars going to MIDA and then going to the developer.
This changed provision in SB 233 from the 2021 general session was not in the best interest of the tax payers and citizens of Utah. This carve out should be undone.
Don't forget that the only money the government has is taken from citizens.
Just imagine if it was your family member that was killed.

Foreign nationals unlawfully issued a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in states run by open border officials killed more than 30 Americans in 17 fatal crashes last year alone, a disturbing new investigation reveals.

Leftist politicians and bureaucrats in states like California have systematically undermined federal CDL standards, a critical public safety tool, to license foreign nationals who frequently lack English proficiency and valid immigration status to operate 80,000-pound big rigs on highways throughout the U.S.

The boys went golfing while I went shopping in Eden.
Unfortunately, our little trip ended on a bad note because the expedition started to smoke. Mike got it to a shop and the water pump and a couple of hoses had blown. I had gone home on Sunday. This happened on Monday. Mike sent the boys home in an Uber. Our oldest son had to drive back to Eden to get Mike and all the luggage. We are going to have to drive back to Eden tomorrow to pick up the car from the shop. It is always something!
