Waldrip said Summit and Wasatch counties have openly “declared war” on the state over such growth issues.
“So my message back from our good governor, who cares deeply about these issues is: Your funding as a county is now at risk, meaning none. Anything within my power, I will stop,” Waldrip said.
This is a very interesting article. Utah Citizens for the Constitution has been very concerned about the consolidation of authority in regard to housing in the executive branch. The cities are losing some of their governing power. That matters because history proves as power consolidates tyranny and corruption increase. The cities are having major pressure put on them to approve numerous development projects where tax dollars are paying to develope the land and the profits are going to the private developers. Steve Waldrip wasn't even trying to hide the bullying the cities are going to get if they don't obey.

The USPS Published its Mail-In-Ballot Rules For the Midterm Elections...This is HUGE.
The USPS just published a new rule implementing Trump’s executive order on mail-in ballots.
States that want the Postal Service to handle their mail-in or absentee ballots must now:
-Turn over a list of every voter getting a ballot
-Put unique serialized barcodes on both the outgoing and return envelopes
If a state refuses USPS will not deliver those ballots.
A judge appointed by Obama has temporarily blocked the rule from starting. They published it anyway so it can go live the second the courts lift that block for the Midterms

This article in 2003 by Wendell Cox, senior fellow at the Heartland Institute and no relation to Spencer Cox, proved very precient.
"Perhaps the most serious impact of smart growth's densification is the loss of housing affordability. Any time that development is steered by the whims of planners instead of market forces, housing costs can be expected to rise."
In Utah developers are creating PIDs that allows them to shift costs and risks to the citizens. They are not overly concerned about overbuilding because they do not have to shoulder the consequences of the development.

This is good news! Important Update!
The Supreme Court issued an emergency (temporary) ruling on August 24, 2026, that lifts a lower-court block on key parts of President Trump’s March 2026 executive order restricting mail-in voting. This lets the administration (including the U.S. Postal Service) move forward with implementing aspects of the order for now, but it is not a final decision that the order is legal. The underlying lawsuit continues, and other court blocks remain.

It is nice to hear Cox admit that house prices are not dropping. He is very confused why. Let me explain that giving developers the ability in code to shift their costs and risks onto tax payers doesn't reduce costs. When tax payers have to pay more it actually INCREASES costs. Why in the world would allowing developers issue an ADDITIONAL property tax or PID tax increase costs?? These things are very confusing. Governor Cox is trying to understand. If it would help I can meet with him and explain things very slowly and repeat them as many times as he needs.

🚨 MAJOR SCOTUS VICTORY on Mail-in-Ballots Rules...Lifts Ban on 23 States
The Supreme Court has just overruled a block placed by an Obama Judge preventing Trump's Executive Order to implement safeguards for Mail-in-Ballots.
The ruling now means states must:
-Turn over a list of every voter getting a ballot
-Put unique serialized barcodes on both the outgoing and return envelopes
If a state refuses, USPS will not deliver those ballots.
This is a major election integrity win.

The federal government has no authority to distribute welfare. The enumerated powers do NOT include welfare. This is a state jurisdiction. Look at what disregarding the Constitution has cost America.

Meta settlement for 16.7 billion dollars because it misrepresented the extent of child-related mental health harms caused by apps like Facebook and Instagram.
Utah’s share: Expected to be $212 million over 10 years (guaranteed portion), potentially rising to about $301 million if the contingent payments are triggered.
The settlement language gives states broad flexibility. Funds can generally support:Youth mental-health programs and services
Online safety / digital literacy education for youth and parents
Crisis services, after-school or summer programs, outdoor activities
Public-health advertising and training for medical providers
Grants to schools or local governments
Consumer-protection enforcement related to these issues
Remediation of harms linked to social media use by young people

The government has distrupted the free market in Utah with Public Infrastructure Districts. These allow developers to shift their costs and a lot of the risk to the homeowners. It is increasing the cost of housing. This bill was passed in 2019. It needs to be undone. PIDs allow an appointed board to issue the PID tax. This is taxation without representation.

I had Dr. Walter Daugherity on my citizen Zoom call a couple of months ago. He has his PhD in computer science. He talked about the KNOWiNK poll pads we use in Utah. These devices have to have Internet connection so they can communicate with each other and make sure people aren't voting in multiple locations. They did a study in Bexar County in Texas and found they had insecure connections over Port 80. This is the documentation from the study showing all the connections including the ones over Port 80.

Thank you to Rep Cutler and Senator Winterton for passing HB 26 Voting Equipment Amendments last session.
This bill:
"except for an electronic pollbook or official register, requires an election officer to ensurethat all voting equipment used in this state is not capable of wireless communication;"
This bill prohibits wireless communication on our voting equipment except for pollbooks or poll pads because they have to be able to communicate with each other so that people can't vote in multiple locations. I think it would be wise for us to add that there can be no insecure connection capabilities on the poll pads.

I was able to talk to my house rep, Ray Ward, tonight about my concerns with the KNOWiNK poll pads. Please copy and paste and text to your state legislators. It is so easy!
Talking Point for 8/19 to 8/29!
Many counties in Utah use KNOWiNK Poll Pads to run their elections. Dr. Walter Daughterity has his PhD in computer science and explained that KNOWiNK poll pads show many network connections that are allowed on insecure port 80. Please watch this short clip. Please support a bill to prohibit any insecure connections on poll pads.
