President Trump is exactly right. It isn't just his opinion, this is what the Constitution dictates. The federal government has narrowly defined jurisdictions per the Constitution and welfare is NOT one of them. This is supposed to be done by the states. America had paid a heavy price for disregarding the jurisdictions ot the Constitution.

Did you know that the "General Welfare" clause from the Constitution was also in the Articles of Confederation. The purpose of it was to provide mutual protection from foreign aggression or between the states. Those that assert that the federal government can do anything because of this clause is completely wrong.
Watch this video from a neuroscientist that talks about how detrimental technology devices have been in the classroom.

Thank you so much to Rep Defay and Senator Wilson for passing this bill last session that puts limits on technology especially in the younger grades.

"for grades kindergarten through 3:

(A)prohibiting a student from taking home school-owned instructional

technology;

(B)prohibiting a required ratio of one electronic device to one student;

(C)prohibiting all screen-time in the classroom except for introduction of state

kindergarten through grade 5 computer science standards and preparation for,

and administration of, a standards assessment;"

I was talking to my nephew today who just started sixth grade and he said he has noticed less screens this year and he is using more paper and pencil for work. I was happy to hear that.
Thank you to Emily Green from the USBE for calling attention to the fact that many school libraries continue to contain sensitive materials that are violating the law. Why does it matter that we protect the youth from sexually explicit material? Because it causes MENTAL HEALTH disorders.

The $60,000 “School Library Materials Acquisition and Procurement Review” will now examine several front-end processes related to book purchases and third-party vendors.
“What we want to understand is how vendors have access to public education,” Green said. “And we don’t understand that relationship.”

Constitution Fact!

What does the term "Necessary and Proper" in the Constitution mean? This phrase allows the federal government to enact laws that allow them to execute the specific responsibilities they have been given in the Constitution. This is not a free for all, this applies only to the jurisdictions the Constitution explicitly gives to the federal government. The limitation of the federal government is the genius of the Constitution. As power conglomerates individual liberties decrease.
I have been trying to make Utahns aware of the fact that the LG is giving our data to a private third party organization started by a left-wing activist and refuses to cooperate with the federal government to check for noncitizens. The LG isn't the least bit concerned about sharing private data. That is all a facade.

It is good that Cathy Engelbert, commissioner of the WNBA, is retiring at the end of this year. Can you imagine an entire league set up just for women, but she wouldn't stand up for women's sports by making it clear only women can play in the league, not men that say they are women. That is disappointing leadership.

One of my awesome chairs Kathleen Hohosh in the Impact State Texting Network has had one medical problem after another that has led to several surgeries. Her brother set her up a GoFundMe because of so many medical costs. Please support this amazing lady and citizen that has contributed so much to Utah.

I went out to see chair 29 Kirk Pearson today in Lake Point. We made a video that I will post next week. He built this amazing tree house behind us. It was so fun to see it.
We must keep teaching why socialism never has and never will work. The Heritage Foundation put this material together. Socialism directly opposes the American dream. Socialism removes the motivation and rewards of hard work. This results in a decrease in the standard of living for everyone.
Quiz question: What happened on July 2nd 1776, July 4th 1776, and August 2nd 1776?

July 2: Congress voted to adopt Richard Henry Lee’s resolution declaring that the 13 colonies “are, and of Right ought to be, Free and Independent States.” This was the actual decision to separate from Britain.

July 4: After two days of debate and edits Congress adopted the final text of the Declaration of Independence.

August 2: Most of the 56 eventual signers put their names on the official engrossed parchment copy (the one now displayed at the National Archives).
America has a big problem. The following resolution was voted on by the US House of Representatives. It focused on the "horrors of socialism." There were 98 Democrats that would NOT support this resolution. I am so concerned by the extreme element of the democrat party. I hope good America loving democrats will stand up and help lead their party and denounce socialism in all its forms.

H. Con. Res. 58 (November 21, 2025)

Sponsor: Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar (R-FL)

Vote: 285–98

Content: Denounces "the horrors of socialism," citing historical atrocities in the Soviet Union, China, Cambodia, North Korea, Cuba, and Venezuela. It explicitly opposes the implementation of socialist policies in the U.S.
We have to fight for America. Think of all the soldiers that have died for this country. Think of just D-Day and how many were killed fighting for freedom. I for one will not roll over and play dead while we have people like Zohran Mamdani touting the benefits of socialism ( which are lies) while he slowly kills our Constitutional Republic. This is our time to fight for America.
We absolutely need to pass ethics reform in Utah. The number one issue is elected officials passing bills that directly benefit them financially.

"WHEREAS, public confidence in the Utah Legislature remains a serious concern, as reflected in recent Deseret News/Hinckley Institute of Politics polling showing the Legislature’s approval rating at approximately 44% approve and 45% disapprove (August 2026), and earlier citizen efforts for ethics reform through a 2009–2010 initiative ultimately did not succeed, leaving the need for stronger standards unresolved;"

There is no question that Dominion voting machines changed votes in 2020. We cannot ever allow this to happen again. If the people can't express their will through elections we have lost our form of government.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 73% of Likely U.S. Voters believe it is a serious problem that voting systems could be vulnerable to hacking, including 47% who say the problem is Very Serious. Twenty-three percent (23%) don’t consider it a serious problem.
