Beautiful Bountiful sunset off our back deck.
Military Installation Development Authority (MIDA) fun fact:

MIDA can approve their own projects and then fund their own projects. Infrastructure loans from the state military development fund can be approved by MIDA’s own loan approval committee under § 63H-1-104(2). This is only one source of funding.

This underscores the vast authority of MIDA. When using public money the same organization should NOT be able to approve a project and then fund it with tax dollars. There MUST be changes made to MIDA in the 2027 session.
In 1964 Ronald Reagan gave a speech called "A Time for Choosing." He said:

"A government can't control the economy without controlling people. And they (the founding fathers) knew when a government sets out to do that it must use force and coercion to achieve its purpose. The founding fathers also knew that outside of its legitimate functions, government does nothing as well or as economically as the private sector of the economy."

We must continually post about the evils of socialism and that it makes everyone poor. This picture shows a common standard of living under socialism.
Please copy and paste this and send it to your state legislators. If you don't know who they are Google "Who represents me Utah." They must hear our concerns about the cities being stripped of zoning and planning authority"

Talking Point for 8/31 - 9/12! Please send to state legislators.

Utah code 10-8-1 intentionally gives cities and counties jurisdiction over their land. The division of power is important in a state to protect the rights of the citizens. I am very concerned about the threats to city and county funding if development projects that the executive branch wants are not approved.

You might ask if it really matters if the Utah cities are stripped of a lot of their authority. I emphatically respond that the answer is YES it does matter. There is a common thread that runs through the principle of freedom: The Division of Power. If power is allowed to conglomerate in a state that is dangerous to the freedoms of the people. We are already seeing the results of this power conglomeration by giving certain lucrative deals and favors to developers on the backs of the tax payers. The cities need to be strong and vibrant and help break up power.
This is so unfortunate for the younger families and young single adults trying to get into homes. I assure you that what the Utah government has done with PIDs and other tax subsidies to developers has increased the cost of housing and put more burden on the citizens.

The Department of Justice has filed a lawsuit against Utah for allowing in-state tuition for illegals.

I am so grateful for RFK Jr.'s leadership. He has done so much to expose what happened during covid. Never again!

BOMBSHELL: RFK Jr. just told Dallas that during COVID the Democratic Party turned against every value it once claimed to hold.

Gold-standard science? Gone. Free speech? Obliterated. Churches closed. Liquor stores open.

THE MASK CAME OFF.

He said Biden ordered Facebook and Instagram to remove his accounts within 37 hours of taking office. Social distancing killed assembly. Pharma got liability shields. Three million businesses shut with no due process. Medical papers before constitutional rights. My body my choice became forced masks and forced shots. They silenced mothers. Destroyed Title IX. Replaced merit with mediocrity. Embraced Big Pharma, Big Tech, and the media while calling workers deplorables.

That is why he is on a Republican stage. Restore the Constitution. End the censorship. Protect kids.

My husband and two of our boys attended the Charlie Kirk Memorial tonight.

The boys said there were a lot of people there and there was a ton of security. It took them almost two hours to get there from Bountiful because of the traffic.
They brought home that poster. They felt the tribute for Charlie was well done. My mind focuses on his kids that won't be raised with a dad and his wife left to manage things alone.
Glenn was the last speaker. My boys didn't stay for the whole thing because it was getting late and it is a school night.
Charlie had so much more to give. He had so much more he needed to do for America. His absence can never be filled by someone else.
