Here is another pic from Utah's Accountability and Transparency Conference. Something I learned more about at the conference was about municipal advisors. It is actually a state law for cities to use one so the cities can procure the best deal for the citizens. The municipal advisors have a fiduciary responsibility to the cities and have to put their interest as top priority. An inherent problem with the creation of PIDs is that the deal is usually mostly baked when the PID is actually created and the municipal advisor is brought in. The best interest of the citizens have not necessarily been represented. I can tell you it is the best interest of the developer that has been prioritized.

Private facilities built with tax dollars?
Update from today
We had a good meeting with several legislators talking about what is happening with the tax dollars and developers. We met at 4:00 after the
interim meetings. We are forming a coalition of legislators and citizens that are going to work on this. I felt good about that.

That is very interesting that Harmeet is coming to Salt Lake. I would like to warmly welcome her. I am very curious to know who is getting indicted.

This article highlights some things from the Accountability and Transparency Conference I attended on Monday and Tuesday of this week. It is important for citizens to know that the PID debt is currently around 5.3 billion, but there are a whole bunch that have been approved without the bonds issued yet. This is a terrible direction for Utah to be heading. I organized a meeting with several legislators today about this topic and there is definitely a desire to make changes this session. We MUST start undoing what has happened.
"Less than half of the state’s PIDs are in compliance with state transparency requirements, Cannon said. But they have already issued $5.3 billion in debt. That’s up from $3.6 billion just a year ago. Cannon’s office expects the debt to balloon to $13.8 billion when the 150 not-yet-bonded PIDs obtain financing."

Utah has created hundreds of quasi-government agencies. Feds say they could ‘become a problem.’
Developers falsely claim PIDs are the only way for important projects to get funded. Cities and counties that approve them may see hits to their credit ratings. Homebuyers are getting saddled with unexpectedly high tax rates to help pay off all the builders’…
My cute Ryan gave a presentation tonight about the history of Utah through postcards for the Sons of the Utah Pioneers. Ryan absolutely loves history. He reads history books incessantly. It is so interesting as a mom to see how different kids are with their personalities and talents. He is majoring in history at the University of Utah.
Think of how many tax dollars are going toward health care for people here illegally! The tax payers never gave permission for that.

I worked on the conference today and invited several people individually. Thank you to everyone for helping to invite others. I am hoping this is a turning point in our battle over taxation without representation in the State of Utah.
Most citizens don't realize what an important ruling this was by the Supreme Court. This is why President Trump can truly take on the deep state and unelected bureaucrats who think rules don't apply to them.
Trump v. Slaughter (No. 25-332), decided June 29, 2026, in a 6-3 ruling.Scotusblog
The Supreme Court held that the statutory “for-cause” removal protections for Federal Trade Commission (FTC) commissioners—limiting removal to inefficiency, neglect of duty, or malfeasance—violate the Constitution’s separation of powers. Because the FTC exercises executive power (enforcing statutes, issuing rules, conducting adjudications, and bringing civil suits), its commissioners must be removable at will by the President. The Court overruled the longstanding 1935 precedent Humphrey’s Executor v. United States, which had upheld those protections for independent-agency leaders

Article 1 Section 9 of the Constitution gives important protections to individual citizens. The Constitution is the means whereby we maintain our freedoms. It is important we understand those protections.
No bills of attainder or ex post facto laws: Congress may not pass a bill of attainder (a law that punishes a specific person or group without a judicial trial) or an ex post facto law (a law that retroactively criminalizes conduct or increases punishment for past acts).

We had a big group of kids over for Sam's 13th birthday. He is an official teenager!
Please vote for Shane Manwaring for Salt Lake County Sheriff. He is amazing and is ready to actually take on crime. That is absolutely terrible about this murder. Those boys should have been behind bars. This is such an important election.

At the Transparency and Accountability conference, Dave Sanchez from the Securities and Exchange Commission warned that in his experience it is important that taxing authority is limited to entities that are directly elected and accountable to the people. Utah has allowed appointed PID boards the ability to issue taxation. This must be stopped! It is a danger to our Constitutional Republic and our freedoms.
"And, ultimately, having so many tax-levying agencies with unelected boards inherently creates risk, federal regulators warned."

Tribune editorial: Public infrastructure districts undermine public financing, public trust
“Any entity that has the power to issue public debt ought to be, well, public,” writes The Salt Lake Tribune editorial board.
Article two section one of the Constitution creates the job of president, called the executive. The president is responsible for ENFORCING the laws.
This is an important reminder about our Constitution. The executive branch enforces the laws. President Trump has been doing just that as he enforces the laws about people entering our country illegally and voting in our elections.

Study the Common Defense and General Welfare clause in Article 1 section 8 of the Constitution based on Federalist 41: ”Nothing is more natural nor common than first to use a general phrase, and then to explain and qualify it by a recital of particulars."
This phrase has been the most abused in the Constitution. It is an introduction into the specific enumerated powers. What is really interesting is that this phrase is followed by a semicolon. The common defense and general welfare clause is part of the same sentence as the enumerated powers.
