πΌ4 June 1996. It's 25 years today that Metallica released their most controversial album: Load.
A historical one for sure, because it definetly marked a change in their sound... the thrash metal days π₯ were already distant memories for some years, but in this album it's really hard to find traces of Heavy Metal either. Die hard fans criticized Metallica's choice and many of them abandoned the band, predicting a quick death for them. History has then demonstrated that Metallica are still today far from being dead, in any case Load was poorly considered by the majority.
In my opinion there are many good songs and ideas in Load (for sure more than in many #Metallica albums which followed), but they are more related to rock, blues and hard rock ballads and suites, which at the time was hard for us fans to accept from them...
In the Chat RoomπI post the heaviest track from Load, as always if you have a favorite song and/or opinion on this album... post it here π
