She’s a doctor. A digital health pioneer. A mother of five.
She’s the mind behind WeCare, Ethiopia’s largest digital health platform.
And her mission? To make healthcare accessible — with one click.
Meet Dr. Bethel Dereje — a Gynecologic Oncologist who turned a Facebook page into a national movement, created for women, powered by tech, and led by purpose.
At WTM Addis: IWD 2025, she’ll take the stage not to talk about what’s been done — but what’s still possible.

🚫 "Too Big, Too Hard, Too Complex?"
Not for her.
Before she retired, Mekdes Mintesnot was the only woman to serve as Chief Information Officer in Ethio telecom’s history — and that was just one of the many hats she wore. CISO, CIO, CQPO, mentor, trailblazer, cost-saver, system mover — you name it, she’s done it.
With over 38 years in tech leadership, and now as CEO & Co-founder of TriTel Technologies, Mekdes is still building — still redefining what’s possible for women in Ethiopia’s ICT space.
On April 12, she joins our panel, not to talk theory — but to talk legacy. And how the next generation can lead without limits.
