What a US war with Cuba would really look like

Experts say every military option carries its own strategic, political, and humanitarian risks.

CBS News reported recently that Pentagon officials were exploring the possibility of military action against Cuba.

β€œMilitary planners have in recent weeks examined a range of options for possible action against the island, including an Army-led air assault involving thousands of U.S. soldiers to be carried out by the 101st Airborne Division, the only unit trained for such a task,” according to the report...

I love how "experts" tend to say the most painfully obvious shit imaginable. Also, this is exactly the kind of articles RS were publishing before the kidnapping of Maduro and imperial aggression against Iran.

According to estimates from the U.S. Department of Defense, the United States used more than 1200 Patriot missiles during the war, with each missile costing more than four million dollars. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, in closed-door discussions, warned that the military is capable of resuming large-scale combat operations against Iran, but that such a move could significantly reduce the number of interceptor missiles available to U.S. Central Command.

Even with plans to scale up production, it would take 3 years to return stockpiles to pre-war levels in the most optimistic scenario. More likely, it will take 5+ years. This also doesn't include planned transfers to Ukraine.

The late Senator Graham* reportedly sought to persuade Trump to join Israel's attacks on the "Hezbollah" movement in Lebanon, according to the Wall Street Journal, citing materials it has obtained.

According to the newspaper, Netanyahu dissuaded the senator from this initiative.

"Right now, we are focused on Iran... If we tell 'Hezbollah' that we will go all the way, that will be a threat, but if we actually do that, they will have no reason not to go all the way against us. And right now, that is not in our interest," the WSJ quoted Netanyahu as saying in a conversation with Graham.

China has returned to importing more oil.

One of the major pressure release valves of the current crisis was China's ability to lean on reserves to take limit the deman globally for oil. Now, with China returning to increased purchases, it won't take much for the already dwindling supply of reserves globally to lead to an increase in prices. Both the USA and Iran have taken a pause on mutual strikes, but should the situation change, things could really get ugly.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that Ukraine's attack on an Iranian ship in the Caspian Sea could lead to a world war.

"All parties who, in one way or another, consider themselves supporters and patrons of the Ukrainian regime must be extremely careful in this situation. The behavior of the Ukrainian president resembles the actions of anarchists on the eve of World War I, who carried out provocative and extremely dangerous actions, the consequences of which affected all of Europe. One cannot be sure that such a demonstrative act will remain just a local episode and will not affect the international situation. Its consequences will be unpredictable, first and foremost for yourselves, as well as for the entire region that you have drawn into this situation," said the official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry.

Zelensky stated that Iran and North Korea "have already attacked" Ukraine by providing weapons to Russia, commenting on the attack on the vessel.

By this logic, one would have to admit that the USA and EU have attacked Russia, requiring a symmetrical response...

According to sources cited by The New York Times, Trump is considering three main options regarding Iran: escalating military action, tightening economic measures, or declaring victory and withdrawing troops.

"Trump appears to be trapped in a war with Iran, even though he wields the largest 'hammer' in the world. The president, who believed his power was limitless, has discovered several limitations, which has further frustrated him and made him unstable. His presidency has gradually been consumed by a war from which he cannot find a way out," the publication writes.

As an example of this "instability," the publication cites how, last week, Trump's Secretary of Energy signed a historic agreement with Saudi Arabia on the supply of civilian nuclear energy to the kingdom, only for the president to undermine the deal less than 24 hours later, shocking the Saudis with a statement that the agreement, which had been negotiated for 18 months, was doomed to fail unless the country joined the Abraham Accords and recognized Israel.

Aaron David Miller, a former American diplomat with extensive experience in the Middle East, stated that Mr. Trump has once again "pushed the Saudis away, pleased Benjamin Netanyahu, and given Iran strong arguments as to why entering into deals with the United States is a futile endeavor that will inevitably lead to betrayal."

If the Saudis didn't see this coming, I don't know what to tell them. How do nations keep falling for this again and again? I really wonder what in the hell is wrong with these people... It's literally the scene in idiocracy, "I like money."

More than 300,000 people evacuated as wildfires rage across Spain and France

...The fires, fueled by the extreme heat that has gripped Europe since May, have spread rapidly, triggering record breaking evacuations. According to The Guardian, about 260,000 people have been evacuated in France while another 90,000 have been displaced in the Madrid region of Spain.

Local officials confirmed at least one fatality in Manises, Spain. In an X post on Saturday, French Prime Minister SΓ©bastien Lecornu said conditions remain critical. "The situation remains particularly critical in Gironde. The sudden change in weather conditions that occurred yesterday has profoundly altered the fire’s dynamics. After a slight improvement last night and this morning, the forecasts are once again becoming unfavorable. The coming hours could be difficult," the post read...

Trump rejects reports of US missile shortfall

...On Sunday, the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal reported that Trump had held off on a major new attack on Iran over concerns that the Pentagon is running low on air defense missiles.

In a statement to the WSJ, Trump pushed back on the claim, saying, "We have far more munitions than anyone in the world, and far more than we need." He did not provide further details...

I actually didn't believe all those conversations about running out of missiles. However, I might reconsider it now that the orange nigger spoke his speech. Assuming the opposite is true of anything he shits out is usually a safe bet.

Nazis and Jews in Ukraine: What Laura Loomer is missing when she believes Zelensky

US conservative activist Laura Loomer arrived in Kiev after years of denouncing Ukraine's "Nazi apologists." She met Vladimir Zelensky, apologized for articles she had written for RT and said Russian media had "bamboozled" her...

...But when Russians speak of Nazism in Ukraine, they don't really mean only anti Jewish hatred. Ukrainian nationalism, aside from its direct connections to Hitler's Reich in the Second World War, was born and existed as an idea of ethnic exclusivity directed against a whole range of other peoples...

I hate these articles so much. Laura Loomer isn't "missing" anything. She knows exactly what she's doing. And her backers know exactly what they're paying for. She's there to get the retarded boomer back on track for supporting the war, since the circle of "influencers" she's a part of presented the war as a "democrat war." None of this is a "mistake." For fuck's sake.

EU lifts sanctions on luxury Russian export

Brussels has reportedly quietly restored access to sable pelts, a top end fur used by EU fashion houses, citing Moscow's dominance and the lack of alternative suppliers.

...The reversal was reportedly included in Brussels' latest sanctions package, which was agreed upon last week, scrapping a ban on imports of raw Russian sable that had only been introduced in April. The measure was part of the EU's 21st round of restrictions since the escalation of the Ukraine conflict in February of 2022. This time, however, the bloc was forced to push through a watered down package due to growing disagreements, as sanctions increasingly clash with member states' economic interests...

...The statement highlights growing frustration among conservatives who have been pressing Senate leadership to take up the measure, which would require voters to present documentary proof of US citizenship when registering to vote in federal elections.

Despite passing the House of Representatives, the proposal faces formidable procedural hurdles in the upper chamber, where slim margins and unanimous Democrat opposition make achieving the 60 vote threshold for cloture close to impossible...

Johnson & Johnson proposes $5.5B to settle baby powder cancer lawsuits

Johnson & Johnson has proposed $5.5 billion to settle remaining lawsuits alleging that the pharmaceutical company's talcum products caused ovarian cancer, contingent on the agreement receiving approval from at least 95% of remaining claimants.

Talc is a mineral that can be contaminated with asbestos, a toxic substance that can occur near talc deposits and has raised health concerns due to alleged links to ovarian cancer...

Will tough talk be enough? Fed Chair Warsh faces pressure to combat inflation

The Federal Reserve is expected to keep its key interest rate unchanged when it meets Tuesday and Wednesday, but chair Kevin Warsh is under increasing pressure to hike rates soon, a move that could provoke ire from President Donald Trump, who appointed him.

The Iran war has reignited, pushing oil and gas prices higher - a trend that will worsen inflation in the coming months. Soaring investment in the artificial intelligence buildout is raising the cost of laptops, smart phones and electricity. And price hikes from tariffs could be in the pipeline after Trump imposed new duties on dozens of US trading partners...

Apple briefly becomes second company ever to notch $5 trillion market value

Apple's market capitalization briefly surpassed $5 trillion for the first time on Tuesday, making it only the second company ever to achieve that milestone after Nvidia (NVDA.O).

Its shares (AAPL.O) were last up 0.2% at $337.7, giving it a market capitalization of $4.96 trillion. At a β€Œsession high of $342.89, Apple's market value stood at $5.036 trillion.

The iPhone maker became the most valuable company in the world earlier this month, overtaking chip giant Nvidia (NVDA.O) - which had been at the top since June 2025 and was the first company ever to breach the $5 trillion threshold...

Apple, just like Nvidia, is worth nowhere near anything like $5 trillion. The tech/AI bubble is sure getting bigger though, so feel good about that. Red line go brrrrr.
