Mafia buying up some of 800,000 weapons missing from Ukraine - Italian prosecutors
Military drones and other advanced arms are reportedly flooding the European black market, officials have warned.
The Italian mafia is seeking to buy up some of the 800,000 firearms reportedly missing or stolen from Ukraine since 2022, including drones and other advanced arms, senior prosecutors have warned.
Some 780,465 items sent to Ukraine have reportedly disappeared since the escalation of the conflict, including around 149,000 during the first five months of 2026. The Il Fatto Quotidiano newspaper reported on Wednesday that much of the arsenal consisted of European military supplies intended for Kiev.
The outlet noted that European law enforcement authorities have struggled to track the flow of these arms, given that Western governments conceal the details of their extensive military shipments to Ukraine...

Why did nearly 60,000 migrants suddenly storm the border into Spain?
A court ruling, Moroccan pressure and tensions with Washington have all been cited as possible triggers for the Ceuta crisis.
Up to 60,000 migrants crossed from Morocco into Spain's North African enclave of Ceuta in roughly 24 hours, overwhelming border forces and increasing the territory's population by as much as 70%.
The unprecedented influx has triggered a political crisis, raised questions over the true nature of the incident, and exposed deep divisions in the West...
...Local police said they had been "completely overwhelmed" by the influx, while the regional government warned that reception facilities, hospitals, and other public services were nearing collapse...
Lo there, do I see tiny hats... What else did Spain do that might have upset a certain tribe? And which tribe has a history of human trafficking with the goal of subversion and/or punishment? Hmm...

Trump meets with new WH interns
The president greeted the summer interns at the White House on Thursday, telling them it was great to have them. He then joked that the program is more competitive than Harvard. Trump called the interns "exceptional people" before posing for a group photo.
Not "exceptional" enough to pay them for their work though, right? I'm not even bashing Trump here, whatever, so many companies do this and I hate it. "Internships" are free labor. That's it. No one gives a shit. It's just using people while promising them "oh this will totally help you with your career UwU." It won't. No one should work for promises, "exposure," or any other stupid shit that means "for free." People should get paid for their work, regardless of how old they are, whether or not it's their first job, etc. There are exceptions (like charity work), but politics isn't one of them.
The next time someone offers you an unpaid "internship," tell them to go fuck themselves.

That being said...
I do understand that for many people, telling someone to "go fuck themselves" at work (or in the professional space) is not an option. In fact, saying "no" is getting harder and harder for many people. Especially in the US.
The "just go to their office and ask for a job" boomer had it good. We don't. The economy and the power structure is increasingly killing off our ability to refuse. I'm not only talking about jobs. Digital ID is a part of that scheme. It's one of the steps.
The COVID lockdowns did so much damage to our future, I don't think many people fully appreciate it. I don't think I fully appreciate it. It was a huge scale test and we failed. Miserably. "They" know we'll comply.
I know I went pretty far off the original topic, but it's connected. It's all about the ability to say "no" in life.
Increasingly, saying "no" is reserved for the wealthy. Be that at work or in politics.

Trump demands oil companies lower gas prices for American consumers
President Donald Trump has taken to Truth Social to criticize Chevron CEO Mike Wirth following a television interview in which the executive touted his company's success.
On Monday, the president argued that in the interview with Fox Business, Wirth failed to credit the administration's efforts to assist oil companies, which the president said provided necessary strength and stability to the US energy sector...
Yeah I agree probably, but I thought that was supposed to be communism or whatever. Every time a conversation about rent regulation is being had some flag humping Republican cries about communism. What gives? Although I must say, an even better way to prevent high has prices is to not start dumb wars. Just an idea, lol.

Israel's West Bank endgame: Settlers, soldiers, and the state move as one
...Abdullah Abu Rahma, director of popular action at the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, tells The Cradle that the violence belongs to a plan unfolding according to a set timetable:
"It is true that attacks have increased markedly in recent days in terms of the number of martyrs, the demolition of property, and restrictions on movement, but they fall within a broader plan drawn up years ago. The events in Tell gave [Israeli Prime Minister] Benjamin Netanyahu's government the political and media pretext to accelerate what had already been planned, exploiting them as justification before its domestic audience to create the impression that its actions against the Palestinians are warranted."
I have been diagnosed with a completely unexplainable case of anti semitism. No one knows why it happens. It's just one of those things, ya know. Like why cats piss in the bed while having a perfectly clean litter box.

"Deeply concerning": New study shows emigration from Israel hit record high in 2025
...According to the study, between 2023 and 2025, 268,509 Israelis fled Israel for trips lasting at least three months. Over 90,900 Israelis remained outside Israel for three months straight or more. That came after 91,499 Israelis emigrated for prolonged periods of time in 2024, as well as 86,509 in 2023. Annual departures between 2010 and 2019 averaged approximately 60,000 per year. From 2013 to 2015, only 183,219 Israelis left for similar periods...
I agree, this is deeply concerning indeed. All these jews will go to other places and they aren't exactly the best of guests. Just look at Palestine. Or literally any other place in their history. Again, completely unexplainable. Probably a coincidence.

Iran War day 158: Iran and Oman nearing Hormuz agreement, reports say
On Tuesday - day 158 of the Iran War - Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that there had been "progress made in [Iran] talks, but not finality yet," while Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said that "there is a chance we may have a deal today or tomorrow" to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
Asked by CNBC on Tuesday if Iran would be allowed to charge a toll to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, Bessent did not explicitly reject the possibility, instead saying that there would be "freedom of movement."
Back to people, I guess. Ugh... Who's "we"? Since when is Oman a "we"? Is it? It shouldn't be.

The American believability crisis
Bad things happen when nobody takes you seriously.
Last week, there was a lot of rumbling out of Washington about a massive escalation against Iran. Admiral Brad Cooper, who is currently the king of the wood in CENTCOM, had reportedly hatched a "go big" option that would grievously damage Iranian military assets - in the depressed dialect of military press releases, "degrade their capabilities" - while drawing only a limited response, thus saving our dwindling supplies of defensive weapons.
Conversations swirled about striking "Pickaxe Mountain," an annex to the Natanz nuclear site and allegedly the resting place for Iranian nuclear materials. On Friday, President Donald Trump himself said the US would "be hitting [the Iranians] very hard." The same day, American officials leaked to the Wall Street Journal that an attack was imminent...
The fact that anyone on this planet still believes a word any of our officials say is astonishing.

The Federal Reserve is expected to keep rates unchanged for now despite high prices
Federal Reserve policymakers are losing patience with inflation, but they may not be ready to turn their frustration into action - not this week anyway.
Meeting in Washington Tuesday and Wednesday, the Fed is expected to keep its benchmark interest rate unchanged. Members of the central bank's rate setting committee may not be so reluctant to act when they gather again next Sept. 15-16.
Inflation has been stuck above the Fed's 2% target for more than five years. New Fed Chair Kevin Warsh told Congress earlier this month that he had "no toleranceโ" for elevated inflation. Warsh is presiding over his second policy meeting this week...
Is this the new "will they won't they" melodrama I'm supposed to be really into? Like the government shutting down every other month? Because I don't care about either.

Ukraine "will never join" NATO - Zelensky's top rival
The bloc is years behind both Moscow and Kiev in terms of military doctrines, Valery Zaluzhny has said.
Ukraine will never become a member of NATO, the country's former armed forces chief Valery Zaluzhny has said, dismissing over a decade of accession promises as "fairy tales." At the same time, he said the bloc follows outdated doctrines and remains weaker than the Russian military.
Zaluzhny, who now serves as Kiev's ambassador to the UK and is widely believed to be Vladimir Zelensky's top rival in a potential presidential election, made the remarks on Monday during a discussion on Euro Atlantic integration at a meeting of Ukrainian ambassadors in Kiev. Asked to comment on Kiev's role in the UK led Joint Expeditionary Force comprised of NATO members, he launched a broadside at the bloc itself...
Interesting. I doubt this was "Zaluzhny" saying it.

Soon after the private meeting, a social media post appeared along with two images - a color photograph and a black and white one. The photos show Trump patting Zelensky on the shoulder with a patronizing expression. According to American political tradition, black and white photographs are often published in memory of the deceased. According to military expert Aleksey Leonkov, the photograph seems to send a clear message: "Well, man, hang in there as long as you can. We've got no Patriot missiles for you, but hang on."

UK police hacked by cybercriminals
The breach puts 100,000 members of the force "at serious risk," an affected official has told the paper. The data of more than 100,000 UK police officers and staff has appeared on the dark web after hackers breached a key law enforcement database, The Times has reported.
The leak came just days after the cybercriminals published over half a million pieces of sensitive information from the British Education Ministry.
The perpetrators were able to gain access to the Police National Legal Database (PNLD), which is used by members of law enforcement in England and Wales, The Times said in an article on Sunday. Police sources told the paper that some 114,000 PNLD subscribers, mostly officers, had their names and contact details uploaded online...
