Proposed US bill ties financing for Lebanon to Hezbollah disarmament

The bill, dubbed the Lebanon Sanctions, Stabilization, and Support Act, was introduced by US Senators Jeanne Shaheen, the Ranking Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and Senator James Lankford.

The bill would authorize $200 million per year in security assistance for the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) and the Internal Security Forces, explicitly conditioned on "demonstrated progress against Hezbollah," with the option to increase that to $300 million annually if there is "sufficient progress..."

Is-la-ma-bad. Say it with me now. Islamabad. That's right! Islamabad!

Google is moving to require developer registration and verification for apps installed on certified Android devices, a change that will limit traditional sideloading workflows and effectively centralize distribution control through Google Play infrastructure beginning with phased rollouts in 2026 and broader enforcement by September 2026.

Supporters frame the move as a security measure to curb malware; critics warn it will weaken Androidโ€™s "open" legacy, threaten alternative app stores and projects like Fโ€‘Droid, and concentrate power - and revenue - in Google's hands.

Told ya. First of all, let's stop using all the corpo jew terms like "sideloading." It's just installing. Also, which "supporters"? You mean the corpo mouthpieces? Secondly, we really do live in the lamest dystopia imaginable. At least Warhammer has cool shit in it.

Tucker for president? MAGA rebels declare independence from Israel

A widening split on the American right is turning Trump's old base into open opposition, with Israel at the center of the rupture.

Almost since US President Donald Trump started his second and final term, the movement that brought him to power twice has been fracturing. Now there is a full break among Make America Great Again (MAGA) supporters.

Its essence is simple: There are those who continue to identify MAGA with Trump, and on the other side of a widening chasm, those who remain loyal to MAGA but believe that Trump has not. The rebels say Trump has betrayed the cause and want to save MAGA - and thus the US - from Trump...

Are you MAGA? I'm MAGA! You're not MAGA, you're fake MAGA! WHAT?! Bro I'm more MAGA than you. You only MAGA because I MAGA! I was MAGA before it was even MAGA! This new MAGA is not real MAGA. It's just imposter MAGA...

Whatever. I'll believe it when I see it.

All the Vice President's critics

...The objections of Shapiro and others who share his outlook come down irreducibly to foreign policy. It is enough to make one wonder whether one of the legs of fusionism's famed "three legged stool" - which brought together foreign policy hawkishness, free market economics, and social conservatism - was in fact bigger and more important than the others.

Because industrial policy, state involvement in the economy, and debt funded spending are all fine when it comes to defense.

Ultimately, Vance's critics are coming after him because he represents a major threat to the interventionism and mindless pursuit of global primacy that has done so much damage to our republic over the past three decades. They are, when it comes down to it, single issue voters - and that issue is war.

No, they're coming after him because the theatre must continue for the entertainment of the donkeys who still think the government Wrestlemania is real.

Tucker Carlson releases 10 point manifesto for America

...In a nearly two hour livestream, Carlson said that "both parties have colluded against the population to make their lives better and our lives worse." Instead, he argued, America should be: 1) "fair," with laws applied equally; 2) "sovereign," free from foreign and corporate control; 3) "productive," with revived manufacturing and agriculture; 4) "beautiful," with clean, safe, and attractive cities; 5) "healthy," with cleaner food and less dependence on drugs; 6) "honest," with officials punished for lying and government records disclosed; 7) "optimistic," encouraging Americans to have children as a basis for long term thinking; 8) "wise," with practical, reality based education; 9) "decent," rejecting unnecessary wars and support for atrocities; and 10) "united," with a common national identity and a pause in mass immigration...

Yeah, kick out the kike and you'll have everything except maybe number 8.

Senate departs DC for recess without passing SAVE America Act

Members of the United States Senate have exited for their August recess after an all nighter to confirm US Attorney General Todd Blanche, but failed to pass the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) America Act as President Donald Trump urged them to.

On Saturday, Senators departed Washington, DC, to return to their home states or take congressional delegation trips abroad for the next several weeks. They are not due to return to the Capitol until Monday, September 14th.

Before the senators left, they passed a continuing resolution to fund the government through the midterms, ensuring they would not cause another shutdown before the high stakes elections in November. The measure passed 90-6...

Todd Blanche confirmed as US AG

President Donald Trump's choice to lead the Department of Justice (DOJ), Todd Blanche, has been confirmed by the Senate as the new US attorney general despite uncertainty among Republicans about his ability to be impartial after previously serving as Trump's personal defense lawyer.

On Saturday, the upper chamber narrowly confirmed Blanche in a 50-49 mostly party line vote, with two GOP senators, Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), siding with all Senate Democrats to oppose him...

Israel rejects Board of Peace proposal calling for Gaza withdrawal, Hamas disarmament

Israel continues to reject the terms of the agreements reached between the US and Hamas to avoid ending its occupation of Gaza after nearly three years of genocide.

"I want to clarify here," says Netanyahu at the start of the weekly cabinet meeting. "Israel rejects the 15 point document," which calls for Israeli occupation forces to withdraw from Gaza and for Hamas to give up its weapons.

On 31 July, US President Donald Trump announced that his Board of Peace had reached a deal with Hamas to disarm completely, calling it a "historic breakthrough."

According to the US president, the disarmament would be carried out in phases, accompanied by the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza...

Iran war leaves US allies in Asia less defended - NYT

Washington has reportedly diverted "hundreds" of advanced missile systems from South Korea and elsewhere to the Middle East.

...The campaign, launched with a joint US Israeli attack on Iran on February 28, has drained stockpiles of costly precision guided missiles and interceptors, delaying deliveries to foreign customers, especially in Asia, where the long term impact may be greatest, the report said. It added that "hundreds" of interceptors had been pulled out of South Korea and elsewhere in Asia to protect American bases in the Middle East.

During strikes on Iran, the US used many Tomahawks and other missiles initially reserved for a potential conflict with China over Taiwan, the Times said.

According to the newspaper, some US officials fear that South Korea and Japan could begin to doubt America's ability to protect them amid tensions with China and North Korea...

Iran makes new Hormuz demands as missile hits Emirati ship

Iran's Supreme National Security Council has laid out new conditions for the US to meet before the Strait of Hormuz can be reopened, amid continuing attacks on shipping.

In a statement carried by Iranian media on Saturday, the council's secretary, Mohammad Baqer Zolqadr, said that the waterway, which handles around a quarter of global seaborne oil and LNG trade, would not be reopened until "the United States changes its behavior."

He said the US must lift its naval blockade of Iranian ports and withdraw its forces "from the area surrounding Iran," as well as lift "unjust and illegal" sanctions, release the country's frozen assets, and pay compensation. He added that the US must end "war and aggression" against Iran and its allies in Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, and Yemen...

Ukrainian drone explodes near critical gas pipeline in Bulgaria

...The UAV entered Bulgarian airspace from Romania at around 8:10 am on Saturday and detonated near the former Kardam border checkpoint, just one kilometer from Bulgaria's compressor station on the Trans Balkan Pipeline. No casualties or damage were reported.

The pipeline forms part of the Vertical Gas Corridor, a strategic route that transports gas across Southeastern and Central Europe, linking Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Moldova, and Ukraine.

"Noise made by the drone was detected by Romanian border police, and a loud explosion was subsequently heard by the General Toshevo border police patrol," Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev said at a press conference. Radev added that the UAV flew at low altitude and carried "a significant amount of explosives..."

CIA edited Wikipedia has become propaganda tool - co-founder

Wikipedia has become a compromised propaganda tool, the online encyclopedia's co-founder turned critic Larry Sanger has said, warning that its content is now increasingly informing AI.

In an interview with the German newspaper Berliner Zeitung published on Friday, Sanger argued that Wikipedia's lack of an adequate governance structure allowed "specific ideological viewpoints" to shape its content, turning the online encyclopedia into a "globalist, academic, secular and progressive" consensus.

"Wikipedia was recognized early on as an important propaganda organ," Sanger told the outlet. He argued that while the platform's anonymity policy makes it difficult to determine who edits its content, "what we know as fact, based on all sorts of evidence, is that the CIA has already edited Wikipedia..."

This has been happening for a very long time. Just like with YouTube channels.

A glimpse of the post American Middle East?

...None of these countries shares a border with the others - indeed, Turkey and Pakistan are both peripheral to the region, albeit large - and Saudi is the only Arab country. This preserves Saudi ambitions to regional preeminence, if not hegemony; it is unlikely that Pakistan or Turkey, if only for purely geographic reasons, is voluntarily going to try to exert much force over the rest of the region.

While none of the countries has particularly warm relations with Israel and all have expressed disquiet with current Israeli policies, both in Gaza and in the region at large, they have also historically embraced pragmatism above ideology in their relations with Jerusalem. Similarly, none of them is especially enthusiastic about the Islamic Republic of Iran, but prefers getting along most days to most of the alternatives. And all three countries have pretty cozy relations with the United States...

No, it isn't.

On the death and consolations of reading

...As for books, they are decreasingly necessary in people's lives - but not in mine, on the contrary. Now that I am retired, I live mainly in or through books, which are, so to speak, in dialectical relationship with my past life...

...who have not yet had a wide enough experience of life that almost every book, no matter how seemingly recondite, has some personal meaning for them. But by the time they reach my age, books will have gone the way of trilobites and ammonites. I, also, will have gone that way, having lived the last years of my life like a dinosaur just before the Great Extinction, or perhaps like the last thylacine, or Tasmanian tiger, that was filmed in 1936 in Hobart zoo, the last of his species that was, with his death, about to go extinct: the difference being that, unlike the thylacine, I know that my species, that of the bibliomane, is about to go extinct...

An unusual and interesting article by Theodore Dalrymple.

Trump: Will Scharf to become WH counsel, David Warrington transitioning to private sector

"...It is my Great Honor to announce that, effective September 1st, Will Scharf will become Assistant to the President and White House Counsel, replacing a man, David Warrington, who has done a truly outstanding job as White House Counsel and, before that, for my Presidential Campaign. David will be going on to the Private Sector," Trump said.

"Will has done an amazing job in his current role as White House Staff Secretary, and has also served as Chairman of the National Capital Planning Commission," he continued. "I know Will well! He previously represented me in numerous cases, including at the Supreme Court, during the Biden Administration's corrupt and illegal campaign of Weaponization," he continued...

Russia rules out Ukraine conflict "freeze"

Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said peace can only be achieved by addressing the "root causes" of the hostilities. ...Russia's demands include Ukraine abandoning its plans to join NATO and adopting neutral status, accepting restrictions on its armed forces, and formally recognizing Crimea and four former Ukrainian regions as Russian territory. Crimea voted to join Russia shortly after the 2014 Western backed coup in Kiev, and the regions of Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporozhye, and Kherson did the same in September 2022.

"As Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly said, there can be no "freeze" of the conflict without addressing the root causes of the crisis," Galuzin told TASS in an interview published on Monday. He added that Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky has "completely lost touch with reality" and is seeking to further escalate the conflict...
