🌧Injecting Deep Learning into Climate Models
"The work, which is being performed by researchers at the University of California, Irvine, the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and Columbia University, is focused on training neural networks to more accurately predict the how clouds are driving the Earth’s weather patterns, and by extrapolation, the longer-term climate effects. The resulting model, known as the “Cloud Brain,” was integrated into a traditional climate simulation with the hopes of improving its fidelity and performance."
