May this season of giving also allow us to help our fellow Filipinos affected by typhoon #OdettePH in Visayas and Mindanao.

The APMC Student Network Visayas and APMC Student Network Mindanao are now accepting donations, may it be in-kind or monetary.

May the spirit of Christmas fill them with hope, love and a chance to heal with your help.

As super typhoon Odette made landfall in Mindanao last December 16, 2021, it left a trail of death and destruction in its wake. With your kind help and generous donations, we were able to send help to multiple sites in Surigao del Norte in partnership with Ms. Jireh Dorothy Labial. This time, we will be focusing on Siargao, a once lively island that became one of the most heavily affected places by #OdettePH. We knock on your hearts for support, in kind and monetary, to help relieve the burden of the typhoon’s aftermath from its survivors.

Your contributions will be sent to Mr. Tibo Martinez, who is also actively organizing his own donation drive for Siargao.

Dear MindanaOne, let us go hand in hand to rebuild and rise stronger as one Mindanao. Your support is greatly appreciated. God bless us all!

[REITERATION OF CHED MEMORANDA AND APMC ADVISORIES REGARDING CLINICAL ROTATIONS DURING THE PANDEMIC PERIOD]

The Association of Philippine Medical Colleges - Student Network supports the call for the health and safety of the medical interns, clerks, and students, especially amidst the rapid increase in COVID-19 cases. With this, we would like to reiterate the guidelines stated in the CHED memoranda and APMC advisories.

In line with our goal to promote the welfare of Filipino medical students and interns, we request administrators of medical schools and hospital to craft and implement rules with leniency and compassion to the trainees and students, to provide necessary assistance to affected students, and to ensure the safety of those still in face-to-face rotations.

This year, the Medical Education Committee under the Office of the National Vice President envisioned this Network as one that gives great importance in medical education and ensures that medical students will have the opportunities that help them develop their professional skills. Furthermore, this committee aims to empower every medical student to create a change in education and proactively respond to the needs of medicine, technology, and medical advocacies through introducing medical students to different conferences, conventions, and research.

In line with this, we would like to invite you all to be part of This January, join leading Asian hospitals and healthcare industry experts in a discussion on safe and optimised EMR usage, which will cover the following themes:
β€’ Availability and completeness of medical records
β€’ Threat of data breach and healthcare cybersecurity
β€’ Business continuity planning in downtime

[Medical Education Basic Professional Skill Toolkit]

Basic Professional Skill Toolkit 1:
Common Diagnostic Tests ▢️ https://bit.ly/APMCSN-BPST-CommonDiagnosticTests

Medical students are expected to have the basic professional skills (BPS) and knowledge by the time they graduate medical school. However, due to the pandemic a lot of medical students suffered from learning these important skills. The BPS series will help students learn a set of clinical activities that graduates are expected to perform independently. This is an important opportunity for students to prepare and, as an end goal, improve patient safety skills.

The project is scheduled for the FY: 2021-2022 and will be held on different social media platforms such as Facebook and YouTube.

The Philippines is an archipelago made up of over 7100 islands. This brought us different economic benefits such as for trading, tourism, agriculture, and etc. However, this also poses a problem on the accessibility of healthcare especially in the rural setting.

This video will be important in terms of maximizing and becoming more resourceful regarding diagnostic and screening tests especially for places lacking facilities. This will help students to develop their clinical eye and be more cost-effective that will prepare them to become better Filipino physicians.

Please watch out for more releases in the coming months in our YouTube channel! πŸ”— BPST YouTube Playlist: https://bit.ly/APMCSN-BPST
