Common Diagnostic Tests ▶️ https://bit.ly/APMCSN-BPST-CommonDiagnosticTests

Medical students are expected to have the basic professional skills (BPS) and knowledge by the time they graduate medical school. However, due to the pandemic a lot of medical students suffered from learning these important skills. The BPS series will help students learn a set of clinical activities that graduates are expected to perform independently. This is an important opportunity for students to prepare and, as an end goal, improve patient safety skills.

The project is scheduled for the FY: 2021-2022 and will be held on different social media platforms such as Facebook and YouTube.

The Philippines is an archipelago made up of over 7100 islands. This brought us different economic benefits such as for trading, tourism, agriculture, and etc. However, this also poses a problem on the accessibility of healthcare especially in the rural setting.

This video will be important in terms of maximizing and becoming more resourceful regarding diagnostic and screening tests especially for places lacking facilities. This will help students to develop their clinical eye and be more cost-effective that will prepare them to become better Filipino physicians.

An important skill to hone as a health provider is how to conduct an oral presentation. An oral presentation is a means of communication between medical professionals, and so they need to be clear, concise, and organized to efficiently relay patient information. For some clerks and post-graduate interns, having to do an oral presentation is especially nerve-wracking therefore this video will give a brief overview of how to organize patient information using the SOAP format.

Have you seen someone who was caught in an accident, in a near-drowning incident, chocking while eating a meal or experiencing cardiac arrest? In an ideal setting, there must be someone who would respond and attempt to do chest compressions and possibly give rescue breaths.

One of the key things that a medical provider must have is the ability to do Basic Life Support or BLS. . This episode will help us students manage common emergencies. It is important for us students to be equipped with this knowledge and skills as this could potentially help us save lives in the near future.

As a future physician, it is important to gather important details in the course of our patient’s illness and piece it all together with our knowledge from all our years of medical training to come up with an appropriate diagnosis in order for us to treat and manage our patient in the best way possible.
I’m sure you’ve heard many of our consultants and professors tell you that the patient’s history gives us about 70-80% of our diagnosis. So intently listen to your patients as they tell their story.

Proper technique is important to elicit accurate signs from a patient, which will give us more clues as to the diagnosis of the patient and help us narrow down the diagnostic tests to what is needed.
