If it were the case that the heavens and the earth have two (deities) that control and regulate its affairs- two lords or more, then its perfect order would have been ruined and its foundations would have been undermined. This is because they would have been obstacles and opponents to one another; so if one of them wishes to plan and administer something and the other one wishes that it should not take place, it would be impossible for both their wishes to be fulfilled. The fulfilment of the wishes of one would have shown that the other one is weak and unable do whatever he wants, and it is impossible that both of them will agree on everything.

Therefore, the wish of The Irresistible [i.e. Allah- the only True Lord and besides Him every other deity is false]- is what will be fulfilled without anyone being able to prevent or repel it.

This is why Allah [The Exalted] said:

مَا اتَّخَذَ اللَّهُ مِنْ وَلَدٍ وَمَا كَانَ مَعَهُ مِنْ إِلَهٍ إِذًا لَذَهَبَ كُلُّ إِلَهٍ بِمَا خَلَقَ وَلَعَلاَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
No son (or offspring or children) did Allah beget, nor is there any ilah (god) along with Him; (if there had been many gods), behold, each god would have taken away what he had created, and some would have tried to overcome others! Glorified be Allah above all that they attribute to Him! [Al-Muminun. 91]

أعوذُ بِٱللَّهِ مِنَ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِ ٱلرَّجِيمِ

﴿ يَهْدِي إِلَى الْحَقِّ وَإِلَىٰ طَرِيقٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ ﴾

Holy Qur'ān, Surah Al-Ahqaf

﴿ يَا قَوْمَنَا أَجِيبُوا دَاعِيَ اللَّهِ وَآمِنُوا بِهِۦ يَغْفِرْ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُجِرْكُم مِّنْ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ ﴾ ۝٣١
O our people! Respond (with obedience) to Allah's Caller (i.e. Allah's Messenger Muhammad ﷺ), and believe in him (i.e. believe in that which Muhammad ﷺ has brought from Allah and follow him). He (Allah) will forgive you of your sins, and will save you from a painful torment (i.e. Hell-fire).

فلما مدحوا القرآن وبينوا محله ومرتبته دعوهم إلى الإيمان به، فقالوا:
{ يَا قَوْمَنَا أَجِيبُوا دَاعِيَ اللَّهِ }
أي: الذي لا يدعو إلا إلى ربه لا يدعوكم إلى غرض من أغراضه ولا هوى وإنما يدعوكم إلى ربكم ليثيبكم ويزيل عنكم كل شر ومكروه، ولهذا قالوا:
{ يَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ مِنْ ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُجِرْكُمْ مِنْ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ }
وإذا أجارهم من العذاب الأليم فما ثم بعد ذلك إلا النعيم فهذا جزاء من أجاب داعي الله.
تفسير السعدي

أعوذُ بِٱللَّهِ مِنَ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِ ٱلرَّجِيمِ
بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ


Holy Qur'ān, Surah Hood

وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِّنَ اللَّيْلِ ۚ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ذِكْرَىٰ لِلذَّاكِرِينَ ۝١١٤
And establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night. Indeed, good deeds do away with misdeeds. That is a reminder for those who remember.

| Arabic Tafsīr |
يأمر تعالى بإقامة الصلاة كاملة 
{ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ ْ} أي: أوله وآخره، ويدخل في هذا، صلاة الفجر، وصلاتا الظهر والعصر، { وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ْ} ويدخل في ذلك، صلاة المغرب والعشاء، ويتناول ذلك قيام الليل، فإنها مما تزلف العبد، وتقربه إلى الله تعالى.
{ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ ْ} أي: فهذه الصلوات الخمس، وما ألحق بها من التطوعات من أكبر الحسنات، وهي: مع أنها حسنات تقرب إلى الله، وتوجب الثواب، فإنها تذهب السيئات وتمحوها، والمراد بذلك: الصغائر، كما قيدتها الأحاديث الصحيحة عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، مثل قوله: 
"الصلوات الخمس، والجمعة إلى الجمعة، ورمضان إلى رمضان، مكفرات لما بينهن ما اجتنبت الكبائر"،
بل كما قيدتها الآية التي في سورة النساء، وهي قوله تعالى: { إِنْ تَجْتَنِبُوا كَبَائِرَ مَا تُنْهَوْنَ عَنْهُ نُكَفِّرْ عَنْكُمْ سَيِّئَاتِكُمْ وَنُدْخِلْكُمْ مُدْخَلًا كَرِيمًا ْ}

ذلك لعل الإشارة، لكل ما تقدم، من لزوم الاستقامة على الصراط المستقيم، وعدم مجاوزته وتعديه، وعدم الركون إلى الذين ظلموا، والأمر بإقامة الصلاة، وبيان أن الحسنات يذهبن السيئات، الجميع { ذِكْرَى لِلذَّاكِرِينَ ْ} يفهمون بها ما أمرهم الله به، ونهاهم عنه، ويمتثلون لتلك الأوامر الحسنة المثمرة للخيرات، الدافعة للشرور والسيئات، ولكن تلك الأمور، تحتاج إلى مجاهدة النفس، والصبر عليها.
Tafsīr of al-Saʿdī | تفسير السعدي

أعوذُ بِٱللَّهِ مِنَ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِ ٱلرَّجِيمِ
بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ


❝All changes to one’s state and all power reside in His Hand alone. Thus, whatever change of state or power that one is hopeful for, or fears from the creation, in actuality belong wholly and completely to Allāh. How, then, could one ever harbour fear or hope from that which does not itself possess the ability to change one’s state or power?!❞

❝Such is the state of the creation in its entirety. Most of them are either completely ignorant of this fact, or living their life as if they are unaware of it. Whatever Allāh has willed must undoubtedly come to pass, and what He has not willed the occurrence of shall never occur, even if the creation in their entirety were to come together to make it so.❞

❝There is nothing that repels the distresses of this worldly life like Tawḥīd. Consequently, the invocation of the one experiencing sorrow and grief is by Tawḥīd.²❞

❝The greatest of disasters are borne from shirk [associating partners with Allāh]. Thus, nothing can grant safety from it except for Tawḥīd. For it represents a sanctuary, a place of refuge, a fortress, a source of relief for all creation.❞

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ الْعَظِيمُ الْحَلِيمُ،
لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ،

رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ
وَرَبُّ الْأَرْضِ
وَرَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْكَرِيمِ

“There is nothing worshipped in truth except for Allāh, the Great, the Forbearing. There is nothing worshipped in truth except for Allāh, the Lord of the great throne. There is nothing worshipped in truth except for Allāh, the Lord of the heavens, Lord of the earth, and Lord of the supreme Throne.”

The Excellence of the Ten of Dhul-Hijjah

Allah swore by the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah — and He (the Most High) does not swear by a thing except that it is tremendous and honourable in the sight of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic. He said:

وَالْفَجْرِ
وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ

“By the dawn, and by the ten nights (i.e. the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah).” (Al-Fajr: 1-2)

These ten days are the best days for a person to perform righteous deeds and show obedience to Allah through acts of piety such as prayer, dhikr, fasting, sadaqah and sacrifice.

Jābir bin Abdillāh narrated that Allah’s Messenger (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam) said:

أَفْضَلُ أَيَّامِ الدُّنْيَا أَيَّامُ الْعَشْرِ

“The best days in the world are the ten days (of Dhul-Hijjah).” (Ibn Hibbān, Al-Bazzār, declared saheeh by Al-Albāni in Saheeh Al-Jāmi’, no. 133)

Ibn ‘Abbās (radiyallāhu ‘anhumā) narrated that Allah’s Messenger (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam) said:

مَا مِنْ أَيَّامٍ الْعَمَلُ الصَّالِحُ فِيهَا أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ مِنْ هَذِهِ الأَيَّامِ ” . يَعْنِي أَيَّامَ الْعَشْرِ . قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَلاَ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ قَالَ ” وَلاَ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ إِلاَّ رَجُلٌ خَرَجَ بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ فَلَمْ يَرْجِعْ مِنْ ذَلِكَ بِشَىْءٍ

“There are no days during which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten,” meaning the ten of Dhul-Hijjah. They said: “O Messenger of Allah, not even Jihād in Allah’s cause?” He replied: “Not even Jihād in Allah’s cause, except for the man who left out with life and his wealth and does not return back.” (Abu Dawud, no. 2438 and graded saheeh by Al-Albāni)

Al-Bayhaqi reported from Mujāhid that, “Once the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah began, Sa’eed bin Jubayr (radiyallāhu ‘anhu) would exert himself in obedience to Allah such that it was almost beyond his capacity.” (See Al-Irwā of Al-Albāni, no. 890)

The Excellence of the Ten of Dhul-Hijjah

Dhikr (Remembrance of Allah)

These are days of plentiful Dhikr (glorifying Allah and remembering Him). Allah stated:

وَيَذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ فِي أَيَّامٍ مَّعْلُومَاتٍ

“And they mention the name of Allah on the known days.” 
(Al-Hajj: 28) 

And these are the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah. And Allah (the Most High) said:

وَاذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ فِي أَيَّامٍ مَّعْدُودَاتٍ

“And remember Allah during [specific] the numbered days.” 
(Al-Baqarah: 203)

This verse refers to the days of Tashrīq, the 11th, 12th and 13th of Dhul-Hijjah.
It is legislated for the men to raise their voices with Allah’s remembrance. As for the woman then she raises her voice to the extent that she can hear herself and those surrounding her ― such that it is a low voice different to the men. The following is from the Takbeers recited by the Sahābah:

الله أكبر الله أكبر لا إله إلا الله
Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, lā ilāha illallāh

الله أكبر الله أكبر ولله الحمد
Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, walillāhil-hamd

Or one may increase the takbīr (الله أكبر) in the first line to three Takbīrs. 

The takbīrāt are not be made in unison as we hear on loudspeakers and in some mosques. Shaikh ‘Abdul-‘Azīz Ibn Bāz (rahimahullāh) stated: “As for the recital of the Takbīr in unison then it is not legislated in the Sharī’ah―it is an innovation (بدعة)―their recitation in a united voice is an innovation, not legislated in the religion.”

[10] Exalt Allah and His Shariah First and Foremost

Allah stated that Prophet, Ibrahim, peace be upon him, said to his people:
وَڪَيۡفَ أَخَافُ مَآ أَشۡرَڪۡتُمۡ وَلَا تَخَافُونَ أَنَّكُمۡ أَشۡرَكۡتُم بِٱللَّهِ مَا لَمۡ يُنَزِّلۡ بِهِۦ عَلَيۡڪُمۡ سُلۡطَـٰنً۬ا‌ۚ فَأَىُّ ٱلۡفَرِيقَيۡنِ أَحَقُّ بِٱلۡأَمۡنِ‌ۖ إِن كُنتُمۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ
And how should I fear those whom you associate in worship with Allah (though they can neither benefit nor harm), while you fear not that you have joined in worship with Allah things for which He has not sent down to you any authority. (So) which of the two parties has more right to be in security? If you but know.”
It is those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah and worship none but Him Alone) and confuse not their belief with Zulm (wrong i.e. by worshipping others besides Allah), for them (only) there is security and they are the guided.
[Al-An’aam. 81-82]

Then differentiated the two parties and stated:

ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَلَمۡ يَلۡبِسُوٓاْ إِيمَـٰنَهُم بِظُلۡمٍ أُوْلَـٰٓٮِٕكَ لَهُمُ ٱلۡأَمۡنُ وَهُم مُّهۡتَدُونَ

It is those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah and worship none but Him Alone) and confuse not their belief with Zulm (wrong i.e. by worshipping others besides Allah), for them (only) there is security and they are the guided

Meaning, safe from fear, punishment and misery, and they will be guided to the straight path.

It has been reported from Masruq and Muhammad bin Kab that Al-Fajr refers to the day of Sacrifice (An-Nahr) in particular, and it is the last of the ten nights. The ten nights' refers to the (first) ten days of Dhul-Hijjah. This was said by Ibn Abbas, Ibn Zubayr, Mujahid and others among the Salaf and the latter generations. It has been confirmed in Sahih Al-Bukhari from Ibn Abbas that the Prophet said,

«مَا مِنْ أَيَّامٍ الْعَمَلُ الصَّالِحُ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللهِ فِيهِنَّ مِنْ هذِهِ الْأَيَّام»
(There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these days.) meaning the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah. They said, "Not even fighting Jihad in the way of Allah'' He replied,

«وَلَا الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ، إِلَّا رَجُلًا خَرَجَ بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَرْجِعْ مِنْ ذلِكَ بِشَيْء»
(Not even Jihad in the way of Allah; except for a man who goes out (for Jihad) with his self and his wealth, and he does not return with any of that.)
