ባሕር ዳር ዩኒቨርሲቲ በምርምርና ማኅበረሰብ አገልግሎት ተሳት አዘጋጅነት የምርምርና ፈጠራ መሠረተ ልማትን ማጠናከር፣ የተመራማሪዎችን አቅም ማሳደግ እና ለዘላቂ ልማትና ለተሻለ የወደፊት ግንባታ የሚያግዙ ልምዶችን ለመለዋወጥ ያለመ ወርክሾፕ በጥበብ አዳራሽ አካሂዷል።
በወርክሾፑ የምርምርና ፈጠራ መሠረተ ልማትን ለማሻሻል፣ ተመራማሪዎች በሥራቸው ሊያጋጥሟቸው የሚችሉ ተግዳሮቶችን ለመለየትና ለመፍታት፣ እንዲሁም ዩኒቨርሲቲው በምርምር ዘርፍ ያለውን አቅም የበለጠ ለማሳደግ በሚያስችሉ ጉዳዮች ላይ ውይይት ተካሂዷል።
የባሕር ዳር ዩኒቨርሲቲ የምርምር ጉዳዮች ኮርፖሬት ዳይሬክተር ፕሮፌሰር ነፃነት ፈንታሁን እንደገለጹት፣ ወርክሾፑ በዋናነት በተመራማሪዎች የምርምር ሥራ የሚያግዙ መሠረተ ልማቶችን በማጠናከር፣ በምርምርና ፈጠራ ዘርፍ ያሉ ተግዳሮቶችን በመለየትና መፍትሔ ሊያስገኙ በሚችሉ አቅጣጫዎች ላይ ጥልቅ ውይይት ለማድረግ ያለመ መሆኑን ገልጸዋል።
ፕሮፌሰሩ እንዳብራሩት፣ ባሕር ዳር ዩኒቨርሲቲ እንደ ምርምር ተኮር ተቋም ያለውን ሚና በማስፋት ወደ ራስ ገዝነት እየተሸጋገረ ባለበት ወቅት፣ ተመራማሪዎች የሙያ አቅማቸውን እንዲያጎለብቱና የምርምር ውጤቶቻቸውን ለማኅበረሰብ ተጨባጭ ጥቅም በሚያስገኝ መልኩ እንዲያቀርቡ ማስቻል ከሚጠበቅባቸው ቁልፍ ተግባራት መካከል አንዱ ነው ብለዋል።
አክለውም፣ ዩኒቨርሲቲው ከዓለም አቀፍ የምርምርና ፈጠራ እድገቶች አንጻር ምን ዓይነት ዝግጅት ማድረግ እንዳለበት፣ ከተመራማሪዎችስ ምን እንደሚጠበቅ እና በዘርፉ የሚያጋጥሙ ተግዳሮቶችን በማለፍ ሙያዊ ብቃታቸውንና የምርምር ውጤቶቻቸውን በተሻለ ሁኔታ ማስተዋወቅ እንዴት እንደሚችሉ ግንዛቤ ማስጨበጥ የወርክሾፑ ዋነኛ ዓላማ መሆኑን ገልጸዋል።
በወርክሾፑ ሁለት የምርምር ጽሑፎች ቀርበው ውይይት ተካሂዶባቸዋል። ከጅማ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ፕሮፌሰር ድልነሳው የኋላ፣ “ለዘላቂ ልማትና ለተቋቋሚ የወደፊት ግንባታ የምርምር፣ የፈጠራና የምሁራዊ ሥራዎች መሠረተ ልማትን ማሻሻል” በሚል ርዕስ የምርምር ጽሑፍ አቅርበዋል።
በተመሳሳይ፣ ከሐራሬ የምርምር ማዕከል ዶ/ር ሀይሉ ክንድየ፣ “የምርምር ሥራዎችን ከሚያሳትሙ አካላት፣ ከአበርካቾች፣ ከተቋማትና ከገንዘብ ድጋፍ ሰጪዎች ጋር ለማገናኘት ቋሚ መለያዎችን እንደ የምርምር መሠረተ ልማት መጠቀም” በሚል ርዕስ የምርምር ጽሑፍ አቅርበዋል።
ከጽሑፎቹ አቀራረብ በኋላ ተሳታፊዎች በተነሱት ሐሳቦች ላይ ውይይት በማድረግ ልምዶችን ተለዋውጠዋል። ውይይቱም የምርምር መሠረተ ልማትን ለማጠናከር፣ የምርምር ውጤቶችን ተደራሽነትና ተጠቃሚነት ለማሳደግ እንዲሁም የተቋሙን የምርምርና ፈጠራ አቅም ለማሻሻል የሚያስችሉ ግብዓቶችን ለማግኘት ዕድል ፈጥሯል።
በአጠቃላይ፣ ወርክሾፑ ባሕር ዳር ዩኒቨርሲቲ በምርምርና ፈጠራ ዘርፍ ያለውን አቅም ከፍ ለማድረግ፣ ተመራማሪዎችን ለሚጠበቅባቸው ኃላፊነቶች ለማዘጋጀትና ለዘላቂ ልማት የሚያበረክተውን አስተዋጽኦ ለማጠናከር ጠቃሚ ግብዓቶችን ያስገኘ መድረክ መሆኑን የወርክ ሾፑ ተሳታፊዎች ገልጸዋል።

Organized by the Research and Community Engagement Office of the university a workshop was held at the Wisdom Hall aimed at strengthening the research and innovation infrastructure, increasing the capacity of researchers and sharing experiences that will help in sustainable development and building a better future.
In the workshop, issues were discussed to improve the research and innovation infrastructure, to identify and solve the challenges that researchers may face in their work, and to further increase the university's capacity in the field of research.
Bahir Dar University's Corporate Director of Research Affairs, Prof. Netsanet Fantahun, said that the workshop mainly aims to strengthen the infrastructure that helps researchers in their research work, to identify challenges in the research and innovation sector and to have an in-depth discussion on the directions that can lead to solutions.
As the professor explained, at a time when Bahir Dar University is expanding its role as a research-intensive institution and transitioning to autonomy, it is one of the key tasks expected to enable researchers to develop their professional capabilities and present their research results in a way that will benefit society.
He added that the workshop primarily aims to raise awareness of the preparations the University needs to make in response to international developments in research and innovation, the expectations placed on researchers, and how researchers can better showcase their professional expertise and research outputs while addressing the challenges they encounter in their respective fields.
Two research papers were presented and discussed in the workshop. From Jimma University, Prof. Delenasaw Yewhalaw presented a research paper entitled "Improving Research and as a means for sustainable development and Resilient future in Ethiopia".

ፕሮፌሰሩ እንዳብራሩት፣ ባሕር ዳር ዩኒቨርሲቲ እንደ ምርምር ተኮር ተቋም ያለውን ሚና በማስፋት ወደ ራስ ገዝነት እየተሸጋገረ ባለበት ወቅት፣ ተመራማሪዎች የሙያ አቅማቸውን እንዲያጎለብቱና የምርምር ውጤቶቻቸውን ለማኅበረሰብ ተጨባጭ ጥቅም በሚያስገኝ መልኩ እንዲያቀርቡ ማስቻል ከሚጠበቅባቸው ቁልፍ ተግባራት መካከል አንዱ ነው ብለዋል።
አክለውም፣ ዩኒቨርሲቲው ከዓለም አቀፍ የምርምርና ፈጠራ እድገቶች አንጻር ምን ዓይነት ዝግጅት ማድረግ እንዳለበት፣ ከተመራማሪዎችስ ምን እንደሚጠበቅ እና በዘርፉ የሚያጋጥሙ ተግዳሮቶችን በማለፍ ሙያዊ ብቃታቸውንና የምርምር ውጤቶቻቸውን በተሻለ ሁኔታ ማስተዋወቅ እንዴት እንደሚችሉ ግንዛቤ ማስጨበጥ የወርክሾፑ ዋነኛ ዓላማ መሆኑን ገልጸዋል።
በወርክሾፑ ሁለት የምርምር ጽሑፎች ቀርበው ውይይት ተካሂዶባቸዋል። ከጅማ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ፕሮፌሰር ድልነሳው የኋላ፣ “ለዘላቂ ልማትና ለተቋቋሚ የወደፊት ግንባታ የምርምር፣ የፈጠራና የምሁራዊ ሥራዎች መሠረተ ልማትን ማሻሻል” በሚል ርዕስ የምርምር ጽሑፍ አቅርበዋል።
በተመሳሳይ፣ ከሐራሬ የምርምር ማዕከል ዶ/ር ሀይሉ ክንድየ፣ “የምርምር ሥራዎችን ከሚያሳትሙ አካላት፣ ከአበርካቾች፣ ከተቋማትና ከገንዘብ ድጋፍ ሰጪዎች ጋር ለማገናኘት ቋሚ መለያዎችን እንደ የምርምር መሠረተ ልማት መጠቀም” በሚል ርዕስ የምርምር ጽሑፍ አቅርበዋል።
ከጽሑፎቹ አቀራረብ በኋላ ተሳታፊዎች በተነሱት ሐሳቦች ላይ ውይይት በማድረግ ልምዶችን ተለዋውጠዋል። ውይይቱም የምርምር መሠረተ ልማትን ለማጠናከር፣ የምርምር ውጤቶችን ተደራሽነትና ተጠቃሚነት ለማሳደግ እንዲሁም የተቋሙን የምርምርና ፈጠራ አቅም ለማሻሻል የሚያስችሉ ግብዓቶችን ለማግኘት ዕድል ፈጥሯል።

The discussion also created an opportunity to strengthen the research infrastructure, to increase the accessibility and usability of research findings, and to find resources to improve the research and innovation capacity of the university.
In general, the participants of the workshop stated that the workshop was a platform that provided valuable resources to increase participants’ capacity in the field of research and innovation, to prepare researchers for their responsibilities and to strengthen their contribution to sustainable development.

Faculty of Humanities Conducts Academic Writing and Publishing Workshop for Postgraduate Students and Researchers

Faculty of Humanities at Bahir Dar University organized a one-day capacity-building workshop titled Academic Writing, Publishing, and Guidelines Mastery at Peda Campus. The workshop aimed to strengthen the capacity of postgraduate students and researchers to prepare, submit, and publish their scholarly work in reputable academic journals.
Facilitated by Dr. Dawit Dibekulu, the workshop addressed the key stages of scholarly publishing, from developing a research manuscript to enhancing its visibility and impact after publication. Particular emphasis was placed on selecting appropriate journals and identifying and avoiding predatory, hijacked, and cloned journals.
Participants explored practical aspects of manuscript preparation and submission, peer review, professional editing and proofreading, and effective communication with journal editors. The sessions also addressed publication ethics, the responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) in research and academic writing, and common challenges faced by authors. Participants were also introduced to relevant resources to support their continued learning and professional development.
The programme also featured an orientation on Bahir Dar University's Postgraduate Guidelines, delivered by Dr. Ayenew Guadu, Vice Dean for Graduate, Research and Community Engagement. The session familiarized postgraduate students with the University's academic and administrative requirements for postgraduate studies.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Waltenigus Mekonnen, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, highlighted the importance of publishing in reputable journals for enhancing the University's international visibility and expanding research partnerships. He underscored the role of such capacity-building initiatives in translating the University's research aspirations into tangible scholarly outcomes and reaffirmed the Faculty's commitment to sustaining similar efforts.
