Starting August 1st, the 512GB models jump $100, and the 1TB ones add $150. That means the Series S kicks off at $499.99, the discless Series X at $749.99, and the disc-drive Series X at a whopping $799.99. Microsoft is also sunsetting the 2TB version.
Why the hike? Console storage and memory costs have surged over 2.5x, and they expect another doubling by fall 2027. Unlike phones or PCs, consoles are typically sold at a loss, so every component price spike hits hard.
