Starlight🏁

Interstellar has launched a pilot version of its off-line Starlight🏁
⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
The startup Interstellar presented a pilot version of its off-line Starlight, which opens up the possibility of using two-way payment channels in the Stellar blockchain.
As developer Dan Robinson explained, when presenting the solution on his blog, a regular transaction in Stellar, like in other networks, involves publishing details in an open for all mode, paying a small commission and some waiting time required to reach a consensus online and confirm payment.
The essence of the payment channel is that it “freezes” some of the funds for its users. That is, the payment is actually made outside the network, which means it goes much faster, is more privacy and does not require paying a commission.
While the payment channel is functioning, the details of the transactions are not published on the blockchain - this happens only after the channel is closed. At the same time, even after the channel is closed, only the final settlement will be available on the network - all current activity in the channel remains known only to its users.
According to Robinson, Starlight is an analogue of the payment channels of the Lightning Network, ofchein Bitcoin. Stellar plans to achieve Starlight compatibility with other off-tech solutions, such as Lightning Network and Interledger.
Note that the essence of making-based solutions is the almost complete passing of transactions outside the blockchain. Calculations are carried out in accordance with the internal rules of a particular ofchein, where there is both centralized management and their own approaches to openness and anonymity of transactions.
“Ofcaches, of course, are a compromise from the point of view of staunch crypto-anarchists, but a compromise is forced. Lightning Network appeared as a necessary measure, after and as a result of the fact that transactions within the Bitcoin network have become too expensive and slow.
