The table gives the information about the proportion of different types of housing accomodation in three regions - Victoria, the Northern Territory and Tasmania in 2001 and 2006.

Overall, it can be seen that the figure for houses was the highest in all three regions in both years, while 'other' types of dwelling accounted for the lowest points in Victoria and Tasmania.

In Tasmania 88 % of people lived in houses in 2001 , being the highest figure in the chart in 2001 among all these regions. This percentage slightly increased to 89% in 2006. There was a small increase in the proportion of semi-detached houses in Victoria and the Northern territory, from 11% to 12% and from 13% to15%.

The proportion of people living in flats rose steadily in Victoria and Northern territory, whereas in Tasmania this percentage decreased. The Northern Territory recorded the highest proportion in 'other' kinds of dwelling by 14% in 2001 , but this figure fell moderately to 11% in 2006 . This downward trend occurred in Tasmania, declining from 2% to 1%.

Task 1.2 Formal letter

Dear Manager, It is amazing to see some alterations in the dormitory. We students, highly appreciate this particular initiative. I firmly believe these enhancements help us to study better.
It would be great if internet connection is fast and quick to access. Every single resident is desperately in need of reliable internet in order to participate web seminars or online lessons. Lighting is essential for the library so that we can have more productive studying time at night.
In terms of weekend activities, mainly studying leaves us less time to do physical exercise. For this specific reason, organising weekly sport sessions such as competitions could be extremely beneficial for all of us. Some students are very talented when it comes to singing or dancing.
