Sharing a special puppetry workshop by acclaimed practitioner Mika! In this workshop, participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of puppetry and object manipulation.

Through individual and group work, we investigate how the puppet can become an extension of the performer's body, and how simple materials can generate complex emotional and theatrical expression.

The workshop draws inspiration from both physical theatre and puppetry practices. Participants will develop tools for animating objects with clarity and intention, discovering how objects can take on a surprising sense of autonomy and become expressive partners in performance.

When: 15 - 17 Oct | 7pm -10pm
Where: WUSHIREN Studio
How much?: $300/Full program, $120/Single session
Who: The workshop is open to performers, dancers, theatre-makers, and anyone curious about the expressive possibilities of puppets and objects.

How To Be A Kid
A Production by Gateway Arts

🗓 5 - 15 November 2026
📍Black Box, Gateway Theatre
ℹ️ https://gatewayarts.sg/portfolio/how-to-be-a-kid/

Supergirl. That’s what Molly’s Mum and Grandma used to call her when she was little. For a while, she believed it – thought she had real superpowers. But as she got older, she realised that she was just an ordinary girl. Or was she?

Molly is twelve, and her little brother Joe is six. One day, Grandma didn’t wake up – and now Mum can’t stop crying. So Molly becomes a Supergirl again. She cooks, she washes the dishes, she gets Joe ready for school. Supergirl can do everything. Supergirl doesn’t cry. But being Supergirl doesn’t feel much like being a kid anymore.

Now that Mum is finally starting to feel better, maybe things can go back to normal. They can’t turn back time, but they can face their worries together.

How To Be A Kid is an uplifting and accessible story about grief, resilience, and the need for families to communicate about their feelings – and heal together.

While decommissioning a military bunker 20 metres underneath London, the world ends; and they only have one can of beans left.

ANNIE YANG

Annie Yang is a stand-up comedian known for her dark, explicit, and unapologetically chaotic comedy. Originally from Indonesia, now based in Vietnam. She has performed across Asia. Her comedy is self-deprecating, provocative, and occasionally just concerning enough to make you question her life.
