In Kupiansk, Russian forces are flooding the eastern part of the city with infiltrations—particularly along the railway line—taking advantage of the forests and extensive urban areas for concealment.

River crossings are continuing, though they are less frequent, and a Russian presence is still observed in the city center, even though the Ukrainians retain control over almost the entire city; Russian forces have been conducting air strikes on the forests west of the city in recent weeks and the situation on the eastern side of the city continues to worsen.

Finally, a few words on the situation at the border: the Sumy front remains a secondary theater, with some Russian infiltrations along the border—which remains under control but require vigilance.

Near Kharkiv, new Russian incursions have occurred in Kozacha Lopan; a video from today shows a Ukrainian counter-attack in the area.

And finally, in Vovchansk, the Russians are continuing their cross-border offensive, notably by attempting to cross the river and establish positions on the other side to threaten the Ukrainian presence in northern Kharkiv oblast.

Let’s keep in mind my recent work on Ukrainian fortifications—which you can find here—as it helps identify the operational gaps available to the Russian side, as well as the areas requiring extensive preparation for an offensive. I will soon be publishing data on Russian airstrikes for the month of June.

In recent months, Ukraine 🇺🇦 continued to reinforce its fortifications across the country

6 months ago, Zaporizhzhia direction was lacking defensive preparation, it now has 5 defensive lines, which shows how fast Ukraine can adapt.

Finally, as soon as the information becomes available, I will discuss the four axes of the ongoing Ukrainian counter-attacks, as well as what this reveals about the state of both the Russian and Ukrainian armies—even if the OPSEC makes analysis more difficult.

The stunning scale of the unused/destroyed agricultural lands in eastern and southern Ukraine.

The war is also a natural disaster.
