On September 9, Apple unveiled its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo. Citi analysts called it Apple's biggest new device category since the Apple Watch and AirPods.

🍁 October: what's ahead for the market

September was a busy month: the Fed's first rate hike in three years, the CLARITY Act falling short, and BTC hitting its highest levels in months.

October looks just as interesting. According to Carson Group, in US midterm election years October has been the best month for the S&P 500: the index gained 3% on average and rose 73.7% of the time.

How this October plays out will depend on the month's events. Here are the key dates.

📄 Data ahead of the Fed

The US jobs report comes out today, followed by inflation data on October 14. These are exactly the numbers the Fed will be watching before its next decision.

On October 7–8, one of the world's largest crypto conferences takes place in Singapore. Events like this are often where projects make big announcements: product launches, partnerships, updates.

🏎 Tesla Roadster: zero to airborne

On October 15, Tesla plans to unveil the second-generation Roadster, first announced in November 2017. The car is meant to leave the ground, literally. Musk promised an option package with small additional cold-gas thrusters: jets pointed downward lift the car off the ground.

Tesla stock is trading around $382, 23% below its all-time high. Morningstar analysts see the Roadster more as a showcase for the brand and its technology than as a key driver of the company’s valuation. It’s still unclear when the Roadster will go into production: Tesla first promised 2020 and now points to 2027–2028.
