Greenland is home to the Pitufik Space Base, formerly known as Thule Air Base. It is now part of the US Space Force. NASA has announced that the launch vehicle carrying the Orion spacecraft, designated for the crewed lunar flyby under the Artemis II mission, has arrived at the launch pad at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Artemis II will mark the first crewed flight of the Artemis program, involving a lunar flyby without a surface landing.

Helen McCaw, a former Senior Analyst at the Bank of England, has called on Governor Andrew Bailey to develop action plans in the event that an official announcement confirms the existence of extraterrestrial life.

McCaw argues that confirmation of a technologically advanced Non-Human Intelligence (NHI) behind Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) would likely trigger "ontological shock." This, she warns, would lead to extreme price volatility, a loss of confidence in traditional asset pricing models, and potential bank failures.

McCaw pointed to "recent developments," including statements by high-ranking U.S. officials and ongoing declassification efforts, as evidence that governments can no longer ignore the subject.
