The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) Center has issued an update to the earlier report, classifying that the incident is a hijacking.

U.S. Central Command has received rightly disputed claims by my principal Iranian decision-makers that they have not targeted civilians during combat operations, saying that they have not only targeted civilian infrastructure in regional nations but they have also increasingly targeted civilian vessels in and around the Strait of Hormuz.

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) Center has issued a warning after receiving a report that a tanker was struck in the Arabian Gulf by two unknown projectiles on the port side as it was traveling southeast, placing its port side toward Iran.

The UKMTO says all crew are accounted for and there is no reported environmental impact.

One person is dead and another person is in custody following the discharge of a firearm in a dormitory at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana, on Sunday, the 341st Missile Wing says. The base says there is no known threat to Airmen, families or the public. The investigation is ongoing, and the deceased’s identity is being withheld until next of kin are notified. Malmstrom, near Great Falls, is home to the 341st Missile Wing, which operates Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missiles.

A privately owned Learjet 60 crashed in a residential area near Greenacres, Palm Beach County, Florida, around 12:50 p.m. ET Sunday, killing all nine people aboard. The jet had departed Austin, Texas, for North Eleuthera in the Bahamas.

According to available flight tracking data, the 22 year old twin engine jet descended from 35,250 feet to 8,750 feet in a little over a minute before hitting the ground, leaving a crater beside a road near homes and a shopping center.

Recordings retained by LiveATC.net capture the crew discussing icing before saying the aircraft was rapidly losing altitude and that they were going to crash. Governor Ron DeSantis said there appeared to be no casualties on the ground. The NTSB and FAA are investigating.

Authorities have not released the names of the nine people killed in the crash, however some social media accounts, and at least one AI chatbot, have named a specific Florida woman as the female pilot heard in the air traffic control recordings.

Neither the NTSB, the FAA nor local officials have confirmed that, and the claims rest on her past social media posts and a comment under a TikTok video.

Naming an individual before officials identify the victims risks misidentifying someone and adding to a family’s grief. Wait for authorities to release names.

Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) linked social media accounts are circulating an image of burning vessels, with the IRGC Navy claiming that 11 “violating oil tankers” have been set ablaze in the Strait of Hormuz over the past nine days and that some have sunk. The IRGC dates the count from October 25, when U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) commander Admiral Brad Cooper flew over the strait, a trip it calls a “show visit.” Iran hasn’t named the tankers or provided evidence however the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) Center has reported nine vessel attacks over the same period. The UKMTO also says most attacked vessels don’t report to it, so its count is incomplete.

Poland has launched a special security operation along its border with Russia’s Kaliningrad exclave after warnings that acts of sabotage could take place in the coming days. RMF FM, citing unnamed sources, reports that Poland’s Military Intelligence Service and other agencies warned last week of possible sabotage, including border violations by armed groups. Police, military, Border Guard and intelligence services are involved, and a Polish police official linked the operation to sabotage and activity by “eastern services.” Police have also been ordered to full readiness from November 2 to 8. No incident has been reported.

This follows a rise in warnings from European officials about Russia’s hybrid warfare campaign. On October 1st, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said Europe must be ready for regular Russian sabotage, arson and other hybrid attacks, and Danish and Lithuanian intelligence have warned of more to come. Estonia formally accused Russia of an August arson attack on a robotics company, and European officials have blamed Moscow for arson, assassination plots and drone incursions into NATO territory. Moscow’s role in many of these incidents has not been proven.

Family members have identified the co-pilot of the Learjet 60 that crashed Sunday in Greenacres, Florida, as Nathalia Gadelha, 20, according to the New York Post. All nine people aboard were killed. The NTSB has not released the crew’s identities or qualifications, or confirmed who was at the controls.

Gadelha grew up in Palm Beach County, and earned her private pilot license at just 17 in October 2023 as a senior at West Boca Raton High School, through the Palm Beach County school district’s Aviation Academy program, which paid for the license, according to local reports cited by the Post. Her dream was to become a commercial airline pilot, she said. She trained at American Flyers, which is based in Addison, Texas, and has a branch in Pompano Beach, Florida.

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) Center has issued a warning after the master of a vessel reported being struck by an unknown projectile on its starboard side, leaving a hole in the hull. The incident occurred at about 2020 UTC yesterday, roughly 9 nautical miles northeast of Lima, Oman, near the approach to the Strait of Hormuz. The vessel and crew are reported safe, and no environmental impact has been reported. A tanker was also struck by an unknown projectile in nearly the same area on October 22, likely one of the 11 attacks claimed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) over the last 9 days.

U.S. President Donald J. Trump has told Axios’ @BarakRavid that he is not hurrying to resume large-scale strikes against Iran, amidst a renewed negotiation process that has yet to merit much across all fronts and increasing Iranian strikes on commercial shipping in the local region.

Per Ravid, President Trump said he is in “no rush” to renew strikes, as negotiations continue, with both Iran and the U.S. remaining publicly opposed to giving major concessions on key points of contention. At the time of writing, the primary points of contention are the administration of the Strait of Hormuz, the walk-back of U.S. economic coercive measures against Iran, the end of the blockade of vessels traveling to and from Iran (recently reached 144 vessels redirected and now passing 100 days since it has been renewed), and concessions from Iran on the nuclear file.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) held its first press conference a short time ago on yesterday’s crash of Learjet 60 N722BD in Greenacres, Florida, which killed all nine people aboard.

NTSB board member Tom Chapman said investigators have some evidence the aircraft began breaking up before impact. The debris field covers about half a mile by four tenths of a mile, and parts of the aircraft may be found some distance from the crash site. Anyone who finds possible debris should leave it in place and contact local authorities immediately.

The NTSB said the crew reported light clear ice and moderate turbulence before the jet entered an overspeed condition and began descending rapidly. The jet was operated by Aurora Aviation, doing business as Upper Jets, under Part 135 charter rules. Investigators said they will examine all factors to establish the probable cause of the crash.

The U.S. attacked Iran’s Qeshm Island within the last few hours according to U.S. officials, as reported by The Wall Street Journal, the latest in a series of limited strikes the U.S. has carried out in recent weeks without announcing them. Explosions were reported on the Island beginning around 4 p.m. ET today. A U.S. official said the administration is “consistently addressing threats to American forces in the region.”

Some officials described the strikes as defensive, meant to stop Iran from having the freedom to attack commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz. One said the campaign has been kept quiet so as not to signal any intention of resuming major combat operations. Qeshm sits at the mouth of the strait and has a large underground missile site, a naval base and a major desalination plant, according to the Journal.

With midterm voting ongoing in the U.S., the head of Iran’s Supreme Court National Security Council has said that the latest U.S. proposal was “not convincing,” ostensibly meaning that talks have fallen through on a day that most analysts assess is the deadline for successful talks.

With voting underway in today’s midterm elections, traders on Polymarket.com give Democrats about a 75% chance of winning control of both the U.S. House and Senate. Republicans currently control both chambers. Democrats need a net gain of three seats in the House and four in the Senate to gain the majority. All 435 House seats and 35 Senate seats are on the ballot.

Some analysts at U.S. intelligence agencies are careful not to write assessments that are at odds with the White House’s views for fear of political retaliation, two former officials and a current U.S. official told Reuters.

Reuters also reports that intelligence sharing with Congress and across the government has slowed, and at times temporarily stopped, according to eight current and former officials and people briefed on the matter. Two officials said the CIA has stopped co-authoring assessments with the National Intelligence Council, and five said none of the council’s recent assessments have focused on the Iran war.

An ODNI official said the council has kept output close to “historic trendlines,” and a CIA spokesperson said the agency “participates fully” in the intelligence assessment process.
