I’ve been really busy lately so I haven’t had time to share about these recent wallet hacks in our group and X.

Personally, I also lost more than $300 last year and I need to buy Macbook for safer. I’m not too upset about the money, but I really regret losing a wallet that I had used for a long time with many transactions.

From what I understand, this started after Ethereum integrated EIP-7702 in early 2025. Since then, hackers have been abusing this mechanism through connected dApps. One common case that many people reported was after using bridge services like Relay Protocol.

When using certain bridges or dApps, the wallet may automatically create a smart account and enable EIP-7702 permissions in the background. Later, hackers can exploit this.

The dangerous part is: when users connect to another dApp, the wallet may show a normal signing request while hiding some important details. Many people sign without noticing, or the request can secretly trigger an authorization for a malicious smart contract. Most wallets do not clearly show this, but wallets like Rabby Wallet usually give warnings and reports.

🖤 Case 1: If your wallet/private key has been fully compromised, it’s better to stop using that wallet completely. Once malicious EIP permissions are installed permanently, there’s almost no way to fully clean it. The best thing you can do is move remaining assets or claim any unclaimed airdrops before abandoning the wallet.

🖤 Case 2: If your wallet was only drained because you accidentally approved EIP permissions through a dApp, your funds may not disappear immediately. Sometimes hackers scan and drain wallets days, weeks, or even months later.

See if your wallet has delegated permissions to any suspicious EIP contract. If yes, revoke them immediately, or revoke directly through Rabby Wallet.

For future airdrops, switching to Rabby Wallet could be a safer choice.

Today, I’ve been hearing rumors that $SOSO has already taken the Season 2 snapshot. Some people are also saying that inactive referrals may cause your points to decrease and that the airdrop could happen sometime this May.

So far, there has been no official announcement regarding the snapshot. However, there was indeed an issue related to referral points earlier and the team has already resolved it.
