I Stayed Too Long. Fear Got Comfortable.

https://lnkd.in/p/gV_FpKKf

I stayed in a relationship I knew I should leave.

Not because I was happy.

Not because I was confused.

Because breaking up felt harder than staying miserable.

Yes.

I knew the relationship was bad.

My heart knew.
My brain knew.
Even my morning coffee probably knew.

And yet, every morning I woke up, made coffee, smiled, and said:

โ€œIโ€™m fine.โ€

Apparently, I was running a full-time emotional customer service department.

Smile.
Nod.
Pretend.
Repeat.

I became very good at looking okay while internally submitting a resignation letter.

The problem?

Staying was familiar.

I knew the arguments.
I knew the silence.
I knew the routine.

Leaving?

No idea.

And apparently, my brain preferred familiar misery over unfamiliar freedom.

Very efficient.

Very logical.

Very human.

I kept telling myself:

โ€œMaybe things will change.โ€

โ€œMaybe I need to be more patient.โ€

โ€œMaybe Iโ€™m expecting too much.โ€

Three maybes.

Three excuses.

One exhausted person.

Me.

Little by little, I started shrinking myself.

I asked for less.

Expected less.

Complained less.

Not because I needed less.

Because I was tired of explaining why I needed anything at all.

That was when I realized something uncomfortable.

I wasn't keeping the peace.

I was paying for it.

With my happiness.

With my confidence.

With pieces of myself I didn't even notice disappearing.

And then came the line that changed everything:

Pain is not a personality.

I had spent so long living with pain that I started treating it like part of my identity.

As if suffering made me loyal.

As if tolerating everything made me strong.

As if staying proved I cared.

It didn't.

Sometimes staying simply means you are scared to leave.

And that's okay.

Fear is human.

But fear should not get a permanent seat at the decision-making table.

So I finally asked myself a different question.

Not:

โ€œHow much longer can I tolerate this?โ€

But:

โ€œWhat happens if I choose myself?โ€

That question scared me.

And saved me.

Leaving wasn't beautiful.

There was no movie soundtrack.

No dramatic sunset.

No perfectly timed inspirational quote floating through the air.

There were tears.

Doubt.

Loneliness.

That taught me something I wish I had learned earlier:

Ask three better questions:

Is this healthy for me?

Am I staying because I genuinely choose this, or because I am afraid of what comes next?

What is one small action I can take today to choose myself?

You don't need to have the whole plan.

You don't need to feel fearless.

You don't even need to leave everything today.

Start with one honest step.

One conversation.

One boundary.

One request for help.

Three small things can create one very different direction.

If you're reading this and recognizing yourself, don't ask how long you can survive it.

Ask what one small thing you can do today to stop abandoning yourself.

Pain is not a personality.

And fear doesn't get to write the ending.
Iโ€™m Flying Passportless Tonight โœˆ๏ธ

https://lnkd.in/p/ggsbPhMf

No passport.
No boarding pass.
No airport security.

Just one Zoom link, 28 speakers, and enough Table Topics to make my brain ask for immigration clearance. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Tonight, Iโ€™m joining World Travelers Toastmasters Club for โ€œVoice of the World 2026โ€, a Global Table Topics Showcase where speakers from around the world will step up, get a topic, and speak without knowing exactly where the conversation will fly.

And yes, Iโ€™m one of them.

Iโ€™ll be representing Indonesia in Room 1, Showcase-tant #12.

ROOM 1

1. Cora Gaane, USA
2. Retshidisitse Talafala, South Africa
3. Eliza Yuliana, Singapore
4. Ramesh Halai, United Kingdom
5. Anselme S Sanou, Burkina Faso
6. Maggie Cheng, Hong Kong
7. Tamami Nagayama, Japan
8. Sondra Nunez, USA
9. Saraswathi Ramiah Turairas, Singapore
10. Zilva Boaz, Indonesia
11. Dian Halleyuisari, Indonesia
12. Eleos Gandawidjaja, Indonesia
13. Rokiatou Nโ€™Diaye, Mali
14. Daisy Nguyen, Vietnam

ROOM 2

1. Kathy Toh, Singapore
2. Surya Kresnanda, Indonesia
3. Fatima Chafik, Morocco
4. Tosin Arowojolu, Bahrain
5. Gail Chen, Taiwan
6. Susanna Smith, USA
7. Laetitia Barkimba Diallo, USA
8. Phebe Pendon, Philippines
9. Ada Yaya Bocoum, Burkina Faso
10. Jasmine Smith, Jamaica
11. Yuniati, Singapore
12. Joseph Skoda, USA
13. Bettyann Peck, USA
14. Akulina Pramanik, Vietnam

Thatโ€™s the beauty of Table Topics.

You donโ€™t need:
A script.
A slide deck.
A five-year preparation plan.

You need a thought, a story, and the courage to start talking before your brain files a formal complaint. ๐Ÿ˜‚

For me, this is more than a speaking showcase.

Itโ€™s another reminder that communication has no passport.

Our accents may be different.
Our stories may be different.
Our countries may be different.

But when we speak, listen, laugh, and connect, the distance gets a little smaller.

So tonight, Iโ€™m flying.

No passport required.

Just donโ€™t put me in the wrong Zoom room. Thatโ€™s when the real immigration problem begins. ๐Ÿ˜‚โœˆ๏ธ

๐Ÿฅˆ SECOND PLACE, FIRST-CLASS MEMORIES! ๐ŸŒโœˆ๏ธ

I came to Voice of the World 2026 with one simple mission:

Think fast. Speak clearly. Try not to panic. ๐Ÿ˜‚

And somehow, I walked away as the 2nd Place winner of the Global Table Topics Showcase! ๐Ÿฅˆ๐ŸŽค

27 showcase-tants. 2 rooms. 1 unforgettable experience.

Standing on that virtual stage with speakers from around the world reminded me that Table Topics is never just about finding the perfect answer.

Itโ€™s about staying present, trusting yourself, and speaking even when your brain says, โ€œCan we have a little more time?โ€ ๐Ÿ˜‚

My deepest gratitude to World Travelers Toastmasters Club, especially Lisa Qu, DTM, PRA and Valentine Muradzikwa, DTM, for creating this amazing passport-free journey.

Thank you to everyone who participated, supported, listened, and cheered us on. ๐ŸŒŽโค๏ธ

And congratulations to the Champion and fellow podium finisher! ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ‘

For me, this wasnโ€™t just a 2nd place.

It was 1 reminder: You donโ€™t always need more time to shine. Sometimes, you just need to start speaking. ๐ŸŽคโœจ

Passport checked? No. Boarding pass? No. Second place? YES! ๐Ÿฅˆ๐Ÿ˜‚

โœˆ๏ธ 26 VOICES. 2 ROOMS. 1 GLOBAL STAGE.

https://lnkd.in/p/g8ZWwwha

Voice of the World 2026 has officially landed.

And honestly, I think we needed a bigger baggage allowance for all that speaking adrenaline. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐ŸŽ™๏ธ

I joined World Travelers Toastmasters Clubโ€™s Global Table Topics Showcase with 26 contestants, 2 rooms, 6 finalists, and one very important mission:

Speak fast.
Think faster.
Try not to let your brain apply for a visa mid-sentence. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐ŸŒ

And here are the final results:

๐Ÿฅ‡ CHAMPION
Joseph Skoda

๐Ÿฅˆ 1st RUNNER-UP
Eleos Theofilus Gandawidjaja

๐Ÿฅ‰ 2nd RUNNER-UP
Bettyann Peck

Congratulations, Joseph and Bettyann!

And yes, Iโ€™m incredibly happy to bring home 1st Runner-Up. ๐Ÿฅˆ

But my biggest takeaway?

The real winners were the 26 voices who stepped up.

Because this event was never only about trophies.

It was about giving Toastmasters members a chance to experience the heat of the stage.

Think on the spot.
Speak with confidence.
Support each other.

That is what made Voice of the World 2026 different.

๐Ÿ“Š THE NUMBERS TELL THE STORY

26 contestants.
2 showcase rooms.
6 finalists.
3 final podium places.
1 global stage.

And behind those numbers were Toastmasters functionaries, organizers, judges, timers, volunteers, room teams, participants, and supporters from around the world.

That is a lot of people making one microphone work. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐ŸŽ™๏ธ

We even had a one-hour delay.

Yes.

ONE. FULL. HOUR. โฐ๐Ÿ˜‚

But people stayed.

They waited.

They supported.

Nobody abandoned the flight.

That, to me, is one of the strongest success indicators of the event.

The event report captures the participation and execution.

The recording captures the moments.

But the community captured something bigger:

COURAGE.
CONNECTION.
CONFIDENCE.

And that is the kind of data I like to remember. โค๏ธ๐ŸŒ

๐ŸŽฅ MISSED THE FLIGHT?

You can still watch the recording on YouTube.

Because you don't need to be a champion to start.

You just need to show up.

Iโ€™m grateful to everyone who made Voice of the World 2026 possible.

To the contestants.
To the finalists.
To the organizers.
To the functionaries.

To everyone who stayed during the delay.
And to everyone who cheered from the other side of the screen.

You made this flight worth taking.

๐Ÿšจ GROWTH ALERT: RUMAH BISNIS ANDA SIAP NAIK LANTAI? ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ”ฅ

https://lnkd.in/p/gBtyx9SY

Saya suka melihat bisnis bertumbuh.

Omzet naik.
Tim membesar.
Target makin tinggi.

HOUSE OF TRANSFORMATION

๐Ÿ’ก Ganti strategi.
๐Ÿ‘ฅ Ganti cara kerja.
๐Ÿ“ˆ Kejar growth.

Transformation berarti memastikan rumahnya siap ketika kita ingin menambah lantai.

Jangan sampai bisnis kita sudah mau penthouse...

Fondasinya masih kos-kosan.

Lalu bertanya:

โ€œRumah bisnis saya sebenarnya sudah siap menerima pertumbuhan sebesar apa?โ€

๐Ÿ“… Jumat, 9 Oktober 2026
โฐ 19.30 WIB

Pak Putu akan hadir di Insight Session LINKID.

Kalau kamu sedang membangun bisnis, memimpin tim, atau sedang berada di fase โ€œkok makin besar makin ribet ya?โ€...

Ini mungkin sesi yang kamu cari.

๐Ÿ”— https://lnkd.in/gSRqs2sC

HOUSE OF TRANSFORMATION.

Kita tidak cuma bicara bagaimana bisnis bisa naik.

Kita pastikan rumahnya tidak ikut turun. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ”ฅ
4 SESSIONS. 1 BIG LEARNING JOURNEY. ๐ŸŽฏ

https://lnkd.in/p/gvUPuV2i

Four sessions.
Four weeks.
And a lot of questions that made my mentor brain work overtime. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Iโ€™m grateful to have completed my journey as a Masterclass Mentor for Design Thinking in IT Infrastructure & Cyber Security from Indonesia at the REP4 ร— GVSU Virtual Learner Design Summit, hosted by Excelerate.

From September 8 to October 6, I had the opportunity to guide learners as they explored real-world challenges through design thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication.

My role was not to give them the answers.

It was to ask better questions.

Challenge their assumptions.

And help them connect their ideas with real-world industry context.

That included reviewing their problem statements, solution directions, prototypes, pitches, storytelling, and presentations.

And honestly, that is where the fun began.

Because in Design Thinking, sometimes the biggest breakthrough starts with:

โ€œWait... are we solving the right problem?โ€ ๐Ÿ˜„

The best part?

Hearing directly from the participants.

Their feedback reminded me why mentoring matters.

You donโ€™t need to build the solution for someone.

You need to help them see the problem differently, ask sharper questions, and build the confidence to find their own way forward.

Ideas moved.

And problems started turning into possibilities.

Now, if you missed the sessions, donโ€™t worry.

The classroom has left the Zoom room, but the learning is still available. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thank you to Excelerate, the REP4 ร— GVSU Virtual Learner Design Summit team, my fellow mentors, and especially the learners who showed up ready to question, experiment, present, receive feedback, and try again.

Thank you for trusting me with part of your learning journey.

Four sessions completed.

Questions asked.

Ideas challenged.

Solutions refined.

And yes, my Wi-Fi survived too. ๐Ÿ˜‚

From problem statement to prototype, from prototype to pitch, this was one journey Iโ€™m grateful to have been part of.

Until the next challenge. ๐Ÿš€

World Travelers Toastmasters, Letโ€™s Fly Passportless!
๐Ÿš€ POLISH & LAUNCH: FROM PROFILE TO PROFESSIONAL PRESENCE

https://lnkd.in/p/gDEn-mTA

Three days. Two platforms. One professional identity.

And hopefully, fewer LinkedIn profiles that say everything except what you actually do! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Today, I wrapped up Day 3 of โ€œGet Noticed: The Professional Presence Masterclass,โ€ with one mission: helping participants turn their LinkedIn profiles and Framer portfolios into a connected, professional presence.

Because looking professional is good.
Communicating your value is better.
Making it easy for people to find your proof of work? Now we're talking! ๐ŸŽฏ

๐ŸŽ“ WHAT DID WE BUILD?

On Day 3, we focused on โ€œThe Digital Architect: Polish & Launch.โ€

Together, we worked on how to:

โœ… Align LinkedIn positioning with portfolio content.

โœ… Strengthen headlines, introductions, and professional stories.

โœ… Showcase projects, skills, and achievements as proof of capability.

โœ… Connect LinkedIn and Framer portfolios with working links.

โœ… Test the mobile experience and make a stronger first impression.

โœ… Publish a professional presence that people can access and explore.

The goal was clear. One professional direction, two connected platforms, and a stronger way to communicate your value.

Your LinkedIn tells your story.
Your portfolio shows your evidence.
Together, they make your professional presence easier to understand and remember.

That's what I call a profile with a purpose! ๐Ÿ˜‰

๐Ÿ‘ SHOUT-OUT TO OUR DAY 3 PARTICIPANTS

A big thank you to everyone who joined the session and contributed to our learning journey:

๐ŸŒŸ John Okonkwo
๐ŸŒŸ Nasi
๐ŸŒŸ Nkechi Eke
๐ŸŒŸ Annie
๐ŸŒŸ Fizza

Thank you for showing up, working on your professional presence, and being part of the journey.

Every improvement counts. Every clearer headline helps. Every working link removes one more obstacle between you and your next opportunity.

After all, opportunities are great. Broken links are not! ๐Ÿ˜‚

๐Ÿ“Š THE WORK DOESN'T END AT LAUNCH

The Day 3 blueprint established a concrete final deliverable:

๐Ÿ”น One live LinkedIn profile.
๐Ÿ”น One live Framer portfolio.
๐Ÿ”น One connected professional presence.

The materials also outlined the final quality checks, including consistent positioning, relevant proof of work, working links, mobile presentation, and public accessibility.

These are practical outputs participants can use beyond the masterclass.

A polished profile creates clarity.
A portfolio provides evidence.
A connected presence makes it easier for others to explore your capabilities.

That is the professional presence we set out to build.

๐ŸŽฅ MISSED THE SESSION OR WANT TO REVIEW THE MATERIALS?

You can revisit the masterclass recording on our official platform and access the learning materials to continue improving your professional presence.

Review the lessons. Apply the improvements. Test your links.

Because publishing your profile is the starting point. Making sure it communicates your value is the real work.

๐Ÿ™ THANK YOU FOR BEING PART OF THE JOURNEY

Three days of learning.
Three opportunities to improve.
One stronger professional presence to take forward.

We started with building the foundation. We refined the message. We connected the assets.

Now it's time to put that presence to work.

Remember, your profile gets attention, your portfolio builds credibility, and your professional story opens conversations.

So, polish your presence, launch with confidence, and get noticed for the value you bring.

Because the goal isn't simply to be online.

It's to make your professional value clear when the right person finds you. ๐Ÿš€
