I Almost Deleted My 39k Follower LinkedIn Account...
.
.
.
Would you ever #consider deleting your #LinkedIn account if you had nearly 40,000 followers?
.
Businesses go through different #seasons and for a long time I had not #focused on LinkedIn because I was otherwise #occupied.
.
But for some #reason, my account remained semi-active and I was still slowly but surely gaining #followers, even though I only really posted about my #podcast #ETTalks and #toastmasters online #club #meetings in between.
.
But the #engagement was poor, so much so that I no longer saw the need to post at all or to have the account, and this set me on a #rollercoaster of a journey of trying to figure out whether I should #delete my #existing account and #start all over again.
.
This might sound #crazy, but I had what I believed were #legitimate #reasons for wanting to do that, and my #intentions were so good!
.
This was an #amazing educational #process that I came though as I learned a ton about #myself, my business and what my #approach to my followers should be.
.
If you are #thinking about deleting your account and starting off with a #clean slate or just looking to grow your LinkedIn engagement, this #show is #perfect for you, so be sure to #listen in!

Facts about September
Customs and Traditions

The name September comes from the old Roman word 'septem', which means seven because in the Roman calendar it was the seventh month. The Anglo-Saxons called it Gerst month (Barley month) because it was their time when they harvested barley to be made into their favorite drink - barley brew. They also called it Haefest month or Harvest month.

The Romans believed that September was looked after by the god, Vulcan. As the god of the fire and forge they, therefore, expected September to be associated with fires, volcanic eruptions, and earthquakes.

September is the start of the school year. Students return to school after the six-week summer holiday.

The Gregorian calendar is the one most used nowadays. It is named after Pope Gregory Xlll who introduced it in 1582. There is a leap year every four years (or more precisely, 97 leap years every 400 years). This means that the year corresponds closely with the astronomical year (365.24219 days) so it is just one day out every 3,300 years.

The Julian Calendar

Up until 1753, the calendar we used in Britain was the Julian Calendar. It was based on the solar year, the time it takes for the Earth to rotate around the Sun, and thus was less accurate than the Gregorian Calendar.

The Julian Calendar was 365.25 days long, which was fractionally too long, and the calendar over time fell out of line with the seasons.

According to the calendar, September is just another month in the year. But according to our emotions, this time of year often feels particularly weighty.

If you're thinking of starting a new routine, beginning a big project, or committing to learning something fresh and September feels like a natural time to get cracking, don't think you'd do better if you waited until January. This month does have its weird power to help people begin afresh.

ET-ers, is there any new year resolution of yours that hasn't been started yet? Do you plan to start it now?
