🎯 10 Hooks That Stop the Scroll on Instagram

The first line decides whether someone keeps watching or scrolls past. Strong hooks create curiosity, promise a useful takeaway, or highlight a common problem.

➡️ “Nobody talks about this, but…”
➡️ “The biggest mistake creators make is…”
➡️ “I wish I knew this when I started.”
➡️ “This changed everything for me.”
➡️ “Most people are doing this wrong.”
➡️ “Here’s what actually works.”
➡️ “If your Reels are stuck, read this.”
➡️ “The reason your content isn’t growing.”
➡️ “Do this before you post.”
➡️ “Save this for later.”

The best hooks are simple and specific. Their only job is to earn the next few seconds of attention.

If the first line does not create curiosity, the rest of the content rarely gets a chance.

In their announcement post, Robbie Lyle wrote:
"Ethiopian Gooners, we hear you! AFTV is coming to Addis Ababa Stadium on June 6. Get ready for proper vibes and raw Arsenal passion. See you there!"
Is Peer Pressure a Big Thing? 🇪🇹🚫 UK To Ban Social Media For Under-16s

The UK government has announced plans to ban children under 16 from using major social media platforms starting in early 2027.

The restrictions are expected to apply to platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat, X, and YouTube, while messaging apps such as WhatsApp will remain exempt.

➡️ The UK is following Australia's approach, which introduced a similar ban in late 2025

➡️ The goal is to reduce the impact of social media on young users

➡️ Platforms will be required to enforce age restrictions

➡️ The legislation is expected to be finalized before the nationwide rollout in 2027

The move comes as more countries explore ways to limit social media access for minors. However, Australia's experience shows that enforcement may be harder than lawmakers expect.

A recent survey found that around 61% of Australian teenagers who previously had accounts on restricted platforms were still able to access them months after the ban took effect.

The debate is no longer about whether governments should regulate social media for children.

It's increasingly becoming a question of whether such bans can actually be enforced.

🤖 Instagram Will Introduce Paid AI Features

Instagram is preparing to charge for some AI features.

Adam Mosseri confirmed AI image and video generation will remain free up to a daily usage limit. Users who need more will be able to subscribe for higher limits.

According to Mosseri, running modern AI models is expensive, and Meta says unlimited free access isn’t sustainable.

➡️ Free users will continue to receive a daily AI allowance

➡️ A paid subscription will unlock higher usage limits

➡️ Meta is working on the subscription system

➡️ Some AI features already prompt users to subscribe after reaching their daily cap

This follows a wider AI industry trend as companies shift from generous free access to subscription models to cover infrastructure costs.

For most Instagram users, nothing changes today.

Creators who regularly use AI for images, editing, or video should expect these tools to become a bigger part of Meta’s paid offerings.
