Spontaneous introduction to parser generators
When: Sunday, March 12, 18:00-23:00
Language: Russian
Ever tried to write and debug a parser by hand? Then you know it's not an easy task!
Parser generators let you avoid dealing with parser internal state and focus on what's really important: structure of your expression language.
The goal of the workshop is to construct a parser for arithmetic expressions, e.g.
We will talk about:
- regular expressions and when not to use them
- formal grammars and how to define them in BackusโNaur notation
- operator precedence, fixity and associativeness
- backtracking and time complexity of parsers
Bring a laptop with ssh.

Celebrating 20 years of Nix
14:00-18:00, Sunday, Mar. 12th
Nix is older than it may seem: it is 2 years older than Git, 1 year older than Ubuntu, and only 1 year younger than me! (wait, I guess that last one's not really surprising...)
This March Nix is turning 20.
To celebrate, we will gather and chat about operating systems, package management, reproducibility, declarativity and other related topics, probably install NixOS, and have some fun.
If you have some ideas for a quick talk or a problem you want to discuss, don't hesitate to prepare something.
Organizer: @balsoft
Resident curator: @tar_xzf

RETRO GAMING: The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind
When: 17 March Friday, 20:00
Lang: Russian
Wake Up. We're Here. Why are you shaking? Are you ok? Wake up. Stand up. There you go. You were dreaming. The waking world is the amnesia of dream. All motifs can be mortally wounded. Once slain, themes turn into the structure of future nostalgia. Do not abuse your powers or they will lead you astray. They will leave you like rebellious daughters. They will lose their virtue. They will become lost and resentful and finally become pregnant with the seed of folly. Soon you will be the grandparent of a broken state. You will be mocked. It will fall apart like a stone that recalls that it is really water.

Lean Manufacturing Meet Up
When: March 27, 19:30
Languages: English or Russian
Lean Manufacturing is a production method aimed at the reduction of โwasteโ and increasing efficiency. Briefly, it can be summarized as "Precisely specify value by specific product, identify the value stream for each product, make value flow without interruptions, let customer pull value from the producer, and pursue perfection.โ
Join us for a meetup on Lean Software Development, where we'll explore the principles of Lean Manufacturing and how they can be applied to software development. Weโll also glance at Lean Startup and Design Thinking methods used to create better products that meet customer needs.

CTF (jeopardy)
When: Friday, March 31, 16:00
Languages: English or Russian
CTF (Capture The Flag) is a kind of information security competition that challenges contestants to solve a variety of tasks ranging from a scavenger hunt on wikipedia to basic programming exercises, to hacking your way into a server to steal data. In these challenges, the contestant is usually asked to find a specific piece of text that may be hidden on the server or behind a webpage. This goal is called the flag, hence the name!
Jeopardy format means that there are separate tasks split into different categories.
