I've made a waitlist! If you're still waiting and don't see your name on it, please DM me! Thank you so much! 💕

Just a reminder that I want to finish everything on the list by the end of this year, so commissions won't reopen until next year! 🫶

Can we please talk about respecting artists for a moment?

I just want to start by saying that this isn't about one specific situation. It's something that's been bothering me for a long time.

I understand the whole "I'm paying, so I have expectations" mindset, and that's completely fair! But where do we draw the line between having expectations and making someone's job unnecessarily difficult?

Creating art for someone requires communication and cooperation from both sides, not just the artist.

I need your approval at certain stages of the process. I need you to answer my questions so I can make sure I'm creating exactly what you want.

So, what's my point?

I've lost count of how many times I've been completely ignored by clients for days or even weeks, only for them to suddenly come back asking, "Where's my drawing?"
Please understand that if you want to receive your artwork on time and in the best possible quality, you need to communicate with your artist too!

Another thing that's happened to me multiple times is clients deleting entire conversations that contain important references, sketches, and instructions for their commissions.

How am I supposed to do my job when the information I need to work with suddenly disappears? 😭

I genuinely put so much effort and care into every single piece I create. I always try to work as efficiently as possible and make sure every commission is something I'm 100% happy with, even if that means redrawing something multiple times because it doesn't feel right to me.

And that's exactly why I'm asking for a little more understanding and cooperation.
You're spending your hard-earned money on my art, and I want to make sure you're getting something that's truly worth it. But for that to happen, I need your help too.

Respecting artists isn't just about paying them. It's also about respecting their time, their work, and the effort they put into creating something for you.

I'm not asking for much, just a little patience, communication, and mutual respect so we can make the whole process smoother and more enjoyable for both of us.

Thank you to everyone who already does this. I genuinely appreciate you more than you know. ❤️

There's one more thing I really want to talk about.
The artist you commissioned is NOT your punching bag, and definitely not someone you get to take your frustrations out on just because something bad happened in your life.

Unfortunately, this is another ugly side of working as an artist that I've had to deal with way too many times throughout my years in this fandom.
Something bad happens in your personal life, and suddenly you start taking it out on the artist you've been perfectly nice to up until that point.
Like... I get it. Life happens. Bad things happen. We all go through difficult times, and I completely understand that.
But why are you taking it out on me? What did I ever do to you?

The same goes for simply having a bad day. I've had clients suddenly become incredibly rude, aggressive, or straight-up disrespectful towards me just because they were in a bad mood.
And genuinely, what do you expect me to do in that situation?
If you start treating me like absolute garbage, do you really think I'm going to enjoy working on your commission?
Please remember that drawing is creative work. It takes time, effort, motivation, and inspiration.
If the way you treat me makes me want to sit down and cry, how can you expect me to feel inspired to create something amazing for you?
And more importantly, why would I even want to continue working with someone who treats me that way?
At that point, I'd much rather refund you, cancel the commission, and put you on my blacklist than continue putting myself through that kind of treatment.

Paying someone for their art does NOT give you the right to emotionally abuse them.
Artists are people too. We have feelings, boundaries, and bad days of our own.
I'm always willing to listen, communicate, and work things out if there's an issue. But there's a huge difference between expressing frustration or having a problem with a commission and treating the person behind it like they don't deserve basic respect.
You're paying for my artwork, not for the right to treat me however you want.
Please remember that. ❤️

Sorry for spamming you guys with all of this. I'm usually the type of person who keeps a lot of things to myself and just lets things slide. I don't really like making vent posts, but even I have my limits and sometimes things just get too much.

All I really want is to create the best artwork I possibly can for you guys. That's why I'm asking for a little understanding, kindness, and cooperation.

Let's just be nice to each other and work together to make things easier and more enjoyable for everyone. <3
