🌍 GDP is the total value of all goods & services produced in a country. It’s the broadest scorecard of economic performance and has been tracked globally since the 20th century. Most economies publish it quarterly — with the first release (“Advance” or “Flash”) moving markets the most, and later revisions fine-tuning the picture.

📣 GDP tells us if the economy is expanding or contracting. And growth = jobs = demand = inflation = central bank policy. Since global liquidity is interconnected, GDP surprises in the US, EU, or China can move currencies, equities, and commodities worldwide.

Strong GDP ➡️ higher probability of rate hikes.
Weak GDP ➡️ markets price in cuts.

📝 What moves:

🟠 FX: Strong GDP supports local currency, weak GDP drags it.
🟠 Bonds: Hot growth = higher yields, slow growth = bond rally.
🟠 Equities: Love “steady growth,” fear overheating (more hikes) or recession (lower earnings).
🟠 Commodities: Growth drives demand for oil, copper, energy, agriculture.

Example setup: If GDP is expected at +2.5% after +3.2% last quarter —
