The central bank left key rates unchanged. Pandemic emergency purchase programme (PEPP) will continue to run at a significantly higher pace. The ECB expects rates to remain at present levels or lower until inflation outlook has robustly converge to a level sufficiently close to, but below, 2%.
There was an impressive move in EUR/JPY: the pair jumped to 133.75 in the initial reaction, but met resistance. The correction may take the euro down to 133.55 and 133.35. There are no big news to keep boosting the EUR.

The stimulus launched by President Biden in March is no longer in action, so Americans started to buy less. They tend to spend more on services (restaurants, tourism) than on goods. Higher prices may also discourage consumers. The important thing is that the Federal Reserve may stick to its monetary support talk. That would pressure the USD and boost S&P 500 further.

π£United States CPI results will move the dollar!
United Statesβ Bureau of Labor Statistics will release monthly CPI and core CPI on September 14, 15:30 GMT+3.
What will happen?
United Statesβ Bureau of Labor Statistics will release monthly CPI and core CPI at 15:30 GMT+3. The Consumer Price Index measures the average change in prices that consumers pay for a basket of goods and services. The CPI statistics cover a variety of individuals with different incomes, including retirees, but does not include certain populations, such as patients of mental hospitals.
Why is it important?
Investors, traders, banks, and governments are watching CPI data because it is the most widely used measure of inflation. If the inflation rate is high (or higher than expected), banks will probably raise interest rates in order to slow inflation. Almost every release of CPI has been accompanied by massive movements in USD-related assets and USD currency pairs. June saw an unusually high MoM CPI data and it has caused a surge in USD.
How to trade on the CPI data?
Due to the importance of CPI data, it may influence all USD pairs greatly. Furthermore, you can watch after other events related to USD and combine them to catch an even greater price movement.
β¬If actual numbers will beat expectations β the USD will rise.
β¬Otherwise, fall.
Instruments to trade: EUR/USD, GBP/USD, NZD/USD, USD/JPY.

π£Crucial Readings for British Pound
What will happen?
Bank of England will release data on quantitative easing, monetary policy, and bank rates on November 4, 14:00 GMT+2. This exact report happens once a month and shows BOEβs point of view on the current economic conditions.
Why is it important?
The BOEβs meeting contains information that directly affects the British pound. Monetary policy is among the primary tools the Bank uses to change inflation, thus, the overall pace of the economy. Also, interest rates are the paramount factor in currency valuation - traders look at most other indicators merely to predict how rates will change in the future. Although the rate often remains the same, this time investors anticipate a hike to come. Moreover, the voting process (monetary policy committee members vote on main economic matters) can give us more information about the bankβs plans.
How to trade on Bank of England readings?
The British Pound leaped in value against all its major peers in anticipation that the Bank of England could raise interest rates on November 4. That move will put the currency in a winning position against weaker euro and other currencies.
β¬If the Bank hike rates β GBP will rise
