πŸ—£Here's what the Fed's Powell is saying:

πŸ“ˆA gradual tapering process that concludes around the middle of next year is likely to be appropriate.

πŸ“ˆVirus fears weighing on employment growth but should diminish over time.

πŸ“ˆTapering decision may be made in November.

πŸ“ˆNo one knows where the economy will be in a year.

πŸ“ˆHere's what the Fed's Chair Jerome Powell is saying at the press conference:

▫️We think we can be patient.
▫️We don't think it's time to raise interest rates.
▫️The rise in inflation is caused by bottlenecks, not by the higher employment.

πŸ’₯Fed sees more rate hikes in 2022πŸ’₯

β–«The dot plot (i.e. forecasts of the FOMC members) shows the average rate at the end of 2022 at 0.9% vs 0.3% in September. In 2023 2.4% vs 1.8% in September. In other words, the Fed now expects three hikes in 2022 vs two hikes expected and then three more hikes in 2023.

β–«The FOMC monthly tapering pace was increased to $30 billion vs $15 billion prior. That was an expected move.

β–«The Fed now expects the US economy to rise by 4% in 2022 vs 3.8% earlier.

β–«The Fed is prepared to adjust the pace of purchases if warranted by changes in the economic situation.

πŸ’° USD/JPY shot above 114.00. EUR/USD touched 1.1220 before returning to 1.1240. The market is volatile!
